Easy way is to check on back of battery and you'll know where it's made or where it's assembled.

Default Made in China VS Korea
I heard that if/when possible it is better to pursue the Made in Korea.
Does it REALLY make a difference?
I am picking my S3 up on Wednesday when it FINALLY releases here in Canada so was wondering if I should be asking them to check the backs of these phones till I get one from Korea or if it honestly does not matter haha.

Portable Electronic decices such as iPhones and Android phones are always a trade off of bug sets and feature sets.

I have had my Galaxy S3 since last Friday and it is my third Android phone.

There are some things I don't like about the Samsung Parts, there are some things I don't like about the Ire Cream Parts.

What I really recommend you do is go play with one in a store. Study the specs and the carrier stuff (3G vs. 4G). Make a list of good things. Make a last of bad things for each phone you are considering.

The phone with the longest positives and shortest negatives will probably suit you well.

That just means the battery was made in Japan, assembled in China. Look UNDER the battery or on the box. Mine is 16gb blue, Cricket, made in China.
Doubt it makes much difference, but if I had a choice I would pick one from Korea, since Samsung is based there. Probably can keep a closer eye on quality control that way.

Is there anything in the software to identify this thing? For HTC phone if device serial prefix is SH, the device is made in China. ST prefix it is made by Taiwan. I'm looking for such info.

Wonder if being built in different places explains why some screens scratch/crack so easily yet some are tough as nails like mine seems to be?

Hmm my international (gt-i9300) just says "made by samsung" under battery!
