Nope - just go into contacts and scroll down to the very end. you should be able to see Set Custom Vibration pattern or something like that

When browsing an internet web page tap the screen and hold your finger down for a few seconds. It opens a tiny magnifying glass so you can zoom on small areas of the page.

tap on a contact, and scroll to the bottom. the last two sections should be "Ringtone" and "Vibration pattern". when you tap on "Vibration pattern", the center button at the bottom should say "Create"

You CAN use both swipe to unlock with the quick launch icons and set a pin /password. First set swipe to unlock to on. Then change to pin number to unlock. Then there should be a box to select use pin with swipe. Works great.

I also didn't know you could remove quick launch apps. So from my lock screen I have the camera and a flashlight.

You don't even need a flashlight shortcut if you use Tiny Flashlight + LED

To turn on the flashlight all you need to do is shake the phone from the lock screen, and shake it to turn it off again, without the need to input your security lock pattern or pin

I have to say...the Samsung stock video player is pretty awesome. I love the animated previews, and it can play ANYTHING I throw it at.

An only on Android moment today - went to accompany a friend studying at a cafe, got bored of reading my book on the Kindle app, so I went to see how Android torrenting works. Installed a torrent downloader, went to a common site, to get a certain common video, and roughly 5 mins later was watching a very funny show...Got pretty good download speeds, though my area isn't the best, about 850k/s...

Looks like I've missed this one.... Where exactly is the option to turn this feature on? Didn't see it under Motion.

It is a cool app. You can type in some text and it will convert it into morse code and flash it out for you. I use this feature all the time. Saves on data charges. Blackberry Messenger... Pah!

Thanks you! I knew it must have been something I was overlooking. I was diving into edit right from the contact screen. Never bothered to scroll down. Thanks again.

Oh, and don't hate the S-voice. It's quicker to use this for setting reminders, appointments and so on. They really clearly put some time into making that almost fullproof. Other than that, forget it.

What I'm maddest about though is that it's useless in the car because you still have to press a button to get it to work unless you leave the lockscreen on (when you probably want to use a car dock program which will keep the screen on), and because of the aux cable being incompatible with Bluetooth, it might not hear you anyway.
I have seen a few ppl mention that Bluetooth is not compatible when the AUX cable is plugged in. This is not true for me... I have Bluetooth in my car and lisen to music on my phone via AUX cable ALL the time.

I didn't have to do anything else. This kinda took me by surprise because I was used to it with my apple tv and ipad but this had no setup to do, it was all automatic!

how do i access/turn this feature on? do i need to do anything on pc side?

For me, I was delighted to see that when you open the video player, the thumbnails for the videos are live: they all play a little loop from the video, all at once. It was a startling effect, and just goes to show the power of the processor, running eight simultaneous video loops at once.

What little thing did you find in your phone?

Video? There's Video?

Music streaming to TV.

I used to have an iPhone and had to buy Apple TV to stream music to my TV and therefore my home cinema sound system. Since buying the S2 and now S3 I just assumed I wouldn't be able to do that anymore.

A couple of days ago, I noticed a small TV symbol when playing music on the phone. Suddenly my Panasonic TV switched over and started playing the music! I have no idea how but it made my day!

Apple works with Apple, but it seems that Samsung works with Panasonic?! Fab!

Not only that but take it a step further and create a movie then stream it to your TV.

I did try sending video but it spluttered for a while and then the TV came-up with an error message.

Still, loving listening to music!

Not really a 'Cool feature' well to me it was. Whilst browsing the message settings i realised i could change the text bubbles and backgrounds, Probably something I should have realised was there anyway but still. Love how after nearly 2 months I'm still finding out new things about my phone

Small but nice feature I found: while in call log, press a contact's picture and the contact's info pops up in a small window. Scroll down for more info on the contact. Press icons to email, map location, etc.

How can I stream music or video to my tv or reciever? I used Airplay lots on my iphone and airport express and really miss that feature.

I dont have a smart TV, but I have xbox360, ps3, and an HTPC connected to the tv. Surely one of them should be able to stream to it right?

Provided you have DLNA you should be able to stream using AllShare.

Can someoneplease explain how to do this - which settings?

Thanks

Open your clock app, press create alarm, alarm type (should be set as melody by default) and then choose briefing

I would be worried that the flashflight would turn on while in my pocket or laptop bag if it got shifted around too much. Have you had any problems like that?

I have it on mine and if the screen is not on it turns off and it has a limit of time it will be on in the settings so even if it turns on you can make it last only a little while.

Only once, when it was in my jeans pocket. I could see a bright spot of light shining through my jeans!

I just turned the shake sensitivity down a bit and never had that problem since. It's very seldom going to happen anyway because the screen has to be turned on first before the shake detection kicks in.

Love this feature. It always announces the title of the alarm first, so I renamed my daily alarm to Good Morning Eddie so every week morning when it goes off, it says "Good Morning Eddie, it is 0500am,....." Love it!
