1080p SAMOLED+

Eventually, though, I think the SAMOLED+ screen will be built on the inside surface of the Gorilla Glass (3?). I've heard manufacturers are getting displays closer to the surface, so how much closer can it get?

I would imagine LTE radios will continually become more efficient, so we'll see even better battery life for a given battery's capacity. And I'm not sure if Voice Over LTE is more of a carrier or manufacturer feature, but at some point VoLTE will turn voice into data.

That's about all I've got, since I'm not visionary like that.

VoLTE is already built in the Verizon LTE network and the Sprint network is building the same HDvoice in the network and the S3 supports it.
Also as a matter of Voice over data standard it will always run on 3G but can bump to the 4G side if signal is right

That is to far out to be thinking about it. I will enjoy my sgs3 for the next year then we can all speculate what crazy features it will have just like all the rumors about the sgs3.

We probably need to start a GS4 sub forum for this.

I need the GS4 to be no more than 5mm thick, have a quad core 1.7ghz processor with 2+ gb of RAM and it should have a 5+ inch screen with an ultra-thin bezel. The skin should be a flexible rubberized something so I have no need to use a case. And the screen should be unbreakable. This phone should also be running pure Android.

maybe this is the GS6...

The GS4 will be a world phone on all carriers. Quad core with LTE. It will have a battery that will last 36 hours or longer on heavy use. That's just for starters. But I can't upgrade until the GS4 is released.

Well, I haven't even laid eyes on a real S3 yet, so this is purely speculation so here goes. Given what I've heard about the power of this unit, I can't really imagine that I'll be wanting more of that in the S4. IMO, it's about time for "the future" to finally get here. Ultra-high res screen, SUPER thin and light, week long battery life, super solid construction. For me, I don't see how much biggerbetterfastermore the devices themselves can get, I want them to fade into the background of my life so I have to pay less attention to them.

I'd like it to have a 12 megapixel camera like my Sony Ericsson Satio had (lousy phone, great camera) or better still a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics like my Nokia N8 had. If it had the build quality of the N8 too, that would be great.

I was right with you until you said 4.5 display....

Maybe a 5.4" display (a solid 5" would be wonderful though)

Here's hoping the GS3 is truly future-proofed and we'll still be happy with the phone in 2 years when we have to "willingly" give it up for a new phone.

Then that means the Gnote has to go bye bye unless they make it a complete tablet out of it and uses the mobile network data which then will make carriers follow and have (Sprint) make us a tablet with unlimited dataaaa xD

1. It will be bezel-less.
2. It will be smart enough to just know what you want to do (just by you looking at the phone and thinking).

I would like to see:
A 1080p screen (not that I'll be able to notice much of a diffrence but just for the sake of it.)
Better battery life
A metal case (Its cheaper to glue a magnet to your car than get a carkit)
Wireless charger (as was speculated for the s3)
A faster CPU and GPU (I would love to be able to play classic computer games on it.)
And that's about it.

It can be exactly the same as now as long as it has that unbreakable display. Oh and lose the home button and put the back button on the left where it belongs.

My guess is that S Voice will see a huge upgrade in quality and be fully integrated with the software and ui experience.

Default predictions for gs4?

What do you think samsung will add.
I think they will make the screen bigger .
Better processes since only us version of gs3 has dual.
Maybe more functions .

Also when do you think the release date is.
Do you guys think that phones will have 6 core processers

Oh it'll definitely be bigger yet thinner and also smaller too, with a faster processor with 8 cores yet uses less power, and it will have LTE-2X speeds and WifiMAX capability on the K-Band frequencies. And it will have a squared off rounded design in a rectangular circle theme. And it will be lighter yet more substantial feeling to the hand, with GorillaGlassExtreme.

Release date is May 21, 2013. Probably around 11am Pacific time but my intel could be off by an hour or two.

Anyway it should be the shizzle so I would definitely wait for it!

Currently the GS3 does almost everything I can think of. The only two improvements that come to mind:

1.) The GS4 needs a stock option to write apps to SD card. Or in fact be set up to write almost everything to the SD card, like the EVOs that I've owned.

2.) Hardware wise it would be nice if the GS4 used different materials. The GS3 is the most beautiful phone both available and that have been officially announced as of yet, however I really feel like Samsung phones would benefit from FEELING sturdier and more durable. The software is probably the best available for the mobile market, but the GS3 feels even less durable than the GS2. Cases make phones ugly to me but I had to buy one because I was so scared of my phone being dropped even once.

gesture controls would be potentially handy. Having said that, main time it's of use is when cooking so don't need to touch the screen, and my iPad has a few cooking apps with that already included.

I think people will have to do a little bit more "out of the box" style of thinking to guess what the next generation of phones will feature. Phones need to improve our lives and satisfy our demands.

Mobile commerce is blowing up, and I'm sure we'll see more features that make shopping easier to do.

Connecting to our networks will become smarter and more available. Why click Facebook, when you can have it on all the time?

I have no idea how it'll work, or the technology needed but I'd imagine that the phone could know when something is going to impact you and inform you about it through alerts.

It could also suggest shopping to you. Say you're in a supermarket and the phone knows milk is on your list and you're approaching it - it could remind you to pick some up.

That's making life easier and connecting me with my phone.

I hope the screen stays the same size, any bigger and it's not for me.

Maybe for the US version.

International version

Cortex A15 2GHz Dual Core (Quad Core is pointless, apps don't use them)
Mali T604
2GB Ram
13 mp 1080p (Samsung 13 mp camera module spotted recently)
4.8" OLED Display (Doubt they will change this)
1080p Resolution (Probably be 720p RGB)
2650mAh Battery

Solar charging. Or even better, how about OTA charging? How cool would it be to never ever have to worry about your battery life again?
Of course, along with that would probably come OTA charging limits and over-charging fees...so maybe this isn't such a good idea after all... Nevermind, I've got nothing. Move along.

Explain OTA charging is that even possible? Thats a new one to me....

and they said is a fake rumor might be true because of the record....

another thing is Samsung manage to put more pixels on the screen making look even better ....I dont know if they are going to use it on their new devices or it still in testing...

It will most likely have 3GB of RAM and quad core is not pointless.

I'd buy it if they had the same features without the plastic body.

Probably not. I was just fantasizing about what kind of cool stuff they could come up with. I wouldn't have the first clue how it would be done, either. But wouldn't it be an incredible thing if it were possible? Talk about THE technological breakthrough to put every other phone to shame!

They are going to make the screen smaller, 4". They will put it in an all metal case. They will remove the NFC chip and the external SD card option. The battery will not be able to be replaced. Maps won't work correctly on it but the more people use it, the better it will get (?).

Oh, wait.... already been done.

I want lasers, anti-gravity beams, 3-D light projectors and some sort of teleportation enhancement.
