Hotmail Emails do not load fully but loads with hyperlinks in BLUE which are pictures or images.
Email load with hyperlinks in BLUE which are pictures or images. I have to go to bottom of the email to click "Load more details" which will then load proper email page. This happens with all the emails and not from any one particular sender.
I have tried different set up under setting including "Size to retrieve - ALL but still does not load the full email as it would on a PC or on my HTC Desire.
Is anyone has this problem with Hotmail or Gmail which uses built in app in S3 (i.e. Add an account) . Is there a reliable 3rd party Android app for hotmail?
I have spoken to Samsung and T-mobile tech support and they told me that this is the way it works.
Also the big annoying thing is that to load full email, you have to go to the bottom of the email sometime by swiping 10 times to click on "Load more Details"
All the options under the setting are ticked to ensure that I can load full email and picture etc but still email do not load fully without clicking .
Yes I noticed that issue when I set up my Hotmail too. I changed the settings to show images and retrieve all but it still didn't fix it. I think the Load More Details button is the only option.
I'm not sure if this is the reason... but I encounter some problem reading my e-mail where I saw some blue hyperlink but no other text.. I later found out that the default text color was set to WHITE!!! Once I change that, then there is no problem.
I've used hotmail on a variety of Android and other smart phones, the dedicated app was by far the best experience (it's no gmail - but its good).
Thanks but its very very basic, cannot even check other folders or see sent items or junk folder or anything however it does display the e-mails perfectly as I want them to but wish we could do everything else :-(
So now I have to have Hotmail twice, the app so I can view the e-mails properly and the built in one so I can do everything else.

I just spoke directly with Samsung and they FOUND THE PROBLEM!!! It is all because the hotmail account (@live.com, @msn.com, etc.) auto-configures as an Exchange e-mail account, but it's not. It's a POP3 account. So here's the solution - go into Mail and delete your account. Then, re-create it. Enter your e-mail address and password, and click on MANUALLY CONFIGURE. That allows you to select the type of server (Exchange, POP3 or one other option). Select POP3. Enter the rest of the information to setup the account. Once configured, be sure to set the size of email to ALL and click Show Images option as well. It then works like a charm!
I was so freakin' frustrated with having to scroll all the way down and select "Show more details" -- it was driving me NUTS! Try this, and it will work for you.

I just registered to say thanks to hemla. I tried to avoid downloading 3rd party apps and this solution worked and made me happy!
I liked hotmail on exchange settings for 1 reason. If I'd read my email on another device or PC it'd be marked as read on this mobile instantly. This syncing is not there on pop3 so sadly I'm going back to automatic detection of hotmail
Pop 3 setup for Hotmail does suck
That's why I now use enhanced email app
The Hotmail app. Is not that bad but you have to click menu then delete and sending picture emails it hangs, does not go thru and you never know
As far as other email apps I've tried are just as bad in one way shape or form.
But to get the correct sync and folder access to Hotmail, you need to use exchange setup until Microsoft used imap.
I am a first time user of the Galaxy S3 and I read through the posts above to try and work out the best way to set up my Hotmail account on the S3 and have done so as both a POP3 account and an Exchange account to see which worked best, and I do prefer the POP3 as it doesn't bring up the blue hyperlinks, however it is not syncing correctly (for about 7 hours now) whereas the Exchange account is up to date. If anyone could please advise on what the issue might be and how to rectify it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Have you turned sync on from the pull down notifications area? I believe as long as that's lit green it should sync according to your set sync peak/off peak times.
Thank you for your response. Sync is lit green on the pulldown menu and also in the Settings/Email section for all email accounts, and I have pressed 'sync in' in that area also but it's still not working accurately. On a side note, I am also having issues with text messages - I imported messages from my iPhone and they have all come across finally, but the system is still freezing when I click into them or try to send one out.

Not having owned an iphone I can't help with the texts issue.
However if you want something that's highly customisable for widgets on your home screen try the free Elixir 2 app in the play store (and yes it has a sync all button)
Thanks again for the feedback. I seem to have resolved the messaging freezing issue, I opened each thread individually and left it for a minute or so to update (I guess) and the freezing issue has ceased. With regards to Hotmail, I also found the POP3 option to have syncing issues and it did not bring up all folders so I am switching back to Exchange and will just hit the 'load more details' button until they fix it up!
