Wifi Direct help

Looking to get some support for wi-fi direct. I enabled it on my SGSIII and then go to search for my phone on another wifi device and I dont see it. I have tried disabling wifi and cannot get it to show up. Everything I read states that you can connect ANY wifi device with 1 wifi direct device. I can connect 2 wifi direct devices without an issue, but thats it. Really frustrating. Can anyone help with this? Not much info on the web so far.
