Default phone doesn't tell me when i have voice mail...
am i missing some setting? All it tells me is that I missed a call but there's no notification that there's a voice mail even though there is one.

i don't want to use google voice or other voice mail apps because they use data.

Call your carrier and have them reset your voicemail system. I had the same problem, Verizon, and the reset fixed it.
