massive battery drain? read here if so.

Hi I'm new here but I've experienced the gsiff_daemon issue on my s3 which drains the craps out of your battery and shows up on tour battery usage screen as android system. Thus is my attempt to help out others who may have this issue . So if your battery screen is showing android system is using like 70%+ then you most likely have the same issue. I've noticed it only happens when my phone hot boots . The best way to tell is go to
Settings/ developer options / then check the box that says show cpu usage and it will most likely look like the screenshot I attached . The only way to get rid of it is to reboot.
If anyone has any new news on the gsiff issue then post it here . I have to reboot every few days cuz it's alway s showing back up.

if youre rooted, get es file explorer, enable root access, go to system/bin, and rename the file to gsiff_daemon.not

it shouldnt pop up anymore. also i just upgraded to UVALH2 (T-Mo), which restored the file to its original state, and havent had problems since. then again, its only been a day

Well I don't really wanna root yet. I don't wanna void my warranty and the battery is the only thing I'm having issues with . Is there any other way to fix besides a root ? And why exactly is this happening did the file get corrupted because of some app I dl ?

no one knows for sure whats causing it... which carrier are you on? rooting on a few carriers is easy, and is basically the same process for unrooting, if you ever need to warranty the phone

Just had this pop up randomly today... Noticed my battery went down 25% in 2 hours in airplane mode and seen Android System sucking up ~76% of my battery. Checked my better battery stats and seen the gsiff_daemon process. Had my phone about 3 months now and havent installed anything last few days and this is the first time I seen it. Is there any update on what causes it or how to get rid of it without root? Or is root my only option pretty much? It did go away after reboot but I want to avoid altogether. Thanks!
