Screen on time is really what's important. The screen takes up the most power

Screen on should give you a time. Ex: the screens been on 4 hours 3 minutes 30 secs. Tap on the screen portion.

I can already tell if screen is only taking up 15% you're barely using the device. There's nothing wring with that if its your normal use, but it needs to be known so other people don't expect their phone to last that long

Ive gotten over 4 hours with mine and still not been at 0%. Leaps and bounds better than my Nexus ever was. The Nexus was charged 5 hours and 22min ago and hasnt been used and its down to 89% just sitting on the desk. The S3 at this moment in time is sitting at 62% and has 1hr 51min of on screen time.

Press the home key and the power key simultaneously to take a screen shot.

Tap where it says screen...19% to get a screen showing the time on for the screen

That dosn't work for me - just locks the phone. You've got to swipe the screen.

You have to hit them at the exact same time. It took me a couple of tries to get it right. Yes you can swipe the screen also after you activate the feature (Settings / Motion / Palm swipe to capture checked). It may be checked by default, not sure.
