Hi.
Only got my S3 this weekend, and can't find a way to stop the gallery from adding files that are stored on other devices from my WiFi connection.
From reading forums, there is things I could do to stop sharing files from a pc, but it still reads files from my NAS drive. I obviously don't want to stop the NAS from sharing files, but I don't want it booting up every time I load the gallery.

I've spoken to Samsung about this now, and they say they haven't heard of this issue.
Looking around online other people have had it, but never fixed it.
They say they will try and release an update that lets you choose if you want to add LAN devices to the gallery or not, but no idea how long that will take!

The gallery will show any files shared on your home network. That's the purpose of sharing them so it does just that. If you don't want to see them, stop sharing them on those devices.
