Default Contacts 4x1 reset
Hi, using the Contacts 4x1 widget.

The phone promted for me to choose between SMS and Whatsapp when I hit the message button for the contact. Made a wrong choice and now I wish to switch it.

Any idea how to switch the choices made? Greatly appreciate the help!

Welcome to the forums


I don't have your device, but there should be an option in your phones settings to restore defaults app associations

Try poking around in settings>apps

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Sadly, the only thing close to what you've described is the Applications Manager.

A whole load of apps running, and I have no clue what is the name of the widget that I want to edit.

Can you hit the menu button in that setting?

That's what I have to do on mine to get the option to restore defaults



I'm on a different device and probably a different version of android so the screen shot may not help, but its got to be in there somewhere.

Aha! That solved the main problem, but all my other setting are reset too.. Thank you so much!!

Unfortunately that's the only way I know how to reset it. Its easy enough to set them up again.

I'm glad it worked though

Next time instead of clearing all, just to the the app SMS and open it. There is an option to reset the Default in each one instead of doing all.
