Unable to reduce the on call volume

Hi,

I am using Ice cream sandwich and I recently upgraded my software. After that I noticed that they have provided a volume booster in the call option. I used it few times and now am unable to reduce the volume even if the volume booster is off. I can't find any changes when I increase or decrease the volume or even if enable the volume booster. I have to keep my phone half an inch away from my ear.

Can anyone help on this?

Have you tried , settings, sound, volume then system you might be able to change it from there. It's weird that the volume rockers don't work while you are on a call.
