Has anyone been able to use the default Phone app with the Bose QC15 headphones?

I know they are geared towards iOS devices but read a post where someone was able to use the phone and all, just not increase/decrease volume.

I have tried all the settings on the device I can think of but cannot get it to work. The headphones work for all noises on the phone, music, etc. Once I dial a call the audio switches to the device mic/speakers.

Is there a Setting I should be changing or call it a loss?

Had to buy the QC15 Mobile Communications Kit for $30. The main cable in that package works with the GS3. Just a mic, no call answer/end or volume buttons. There are 4 other adapters for other phone types but the GS3 didn't need those fortunately.
