I just finished going through all the sides on this topic now and im at awe on how good most of you are with customizing your s3 and stuff.im using adw ex atm,ive installed like 5other launchers and I got a launcher im decent happy with, but when I see here,I now notice how noob I am on android.
I havent even rooted my s3,got with my sd card or sd card slot on my s3,im kinda working it out and experimenting with it,but after im sure im gonna root the phone since I have never rooted any phones,I need to learn how to do that first, before I start with icon changing.
is there any easy way for me to learn how to root?

Re: ***Post your Beautiful Homescreens***
Check the root sub-forums for the carrier/version of s3 youre on mate. There should be guides at top of the list.
Tbh you dont have to root to do most of this stuff.. just use icon packs, widgets etc from play store
In norway, id guess youre on the gt-i9300 so check out the "international s3, all things root" sub-forum for rooting guides

You don't need root to change your icons, if you don't want to bother with rooting..
With most launchers, just long press on the icon and go to settings, the rest is pretty straight forward.
I just download icon packs from xda, and change them in icon settings by choosing the gallery option.

You may get different opinions and the thing is, they will all be accurate
You should educate yourself as to what rooting is and all the language involved. This is a link to a fellow on XDA that makes rooting as easy as it can be, He explains just about everything and there is a forum for those that have questions.
One thing you should be aware of..................why do you want to root? You must really be the type of person who loves to experiment with and have fun with the operating system of your phone (my opinion).
The handsets of late come with all the bells and whistles you will ever need, rooting is just not as important as it once was as far as getting a functional phone at the end of the day. (my opinion).
I am rooted and have tons of fun trying out different roms and such but at the end of the day............do I need to be rooted? Probably not.

Ahhh got you... when i seen the image first thing i thought was that will make an awesome homescreen
Where did you find that wallpaper? I'm a big Walking Dead fan. That looks like Dale sitting on top of the RV, watching over the camp in one of the first books.
to be honest I havent until recently been that much interest of rooting and customizing my phone further.
But I want to experiment with rooting,I see alot of people here are using different ROM's and apps that you get with rooting to get to know your phone better.I have never tried rooting so I wanna check this out know I can root my phone to check out different ROm's and I want to be able to get rid of some bloatware on my phone that comes with the s3 and perhaps change the s3 boot up logo with something different to make my phone more unique rather then any other s3 or android.I also have never tried anything then touchwiz before, but know I have installed,L7,adw ex,nova prime,go launcher, apex an LP to see what each launcher gives me as customization,I really like apex, nova and adw ex and I want to get to know my phone better then just adding widgets and apps to my homescreen,so theres a bunch of reason why I want to root and learn about it and icon customization.I have been thinking of using like 4 launchers with each that has unique style to them so I can vary and to say I have done that.
I also know that you dont need to root your phone to customize your phone
I will check out the sub forums with rooting and find the correct way for my country and such, and thanks a bunch for that link,I will check it out later.
I've been testing out a few new launchers because I like change, so here are a few screenshots from them.
First is Chameleon Launcher, it is very different, not perfect and I think it would be better on a tablet, but not bad. Looks nice though.
Next is Next Launcher, from the people that make Go Launcher. It's expensive, but looks great, lots of good looking themes for it. It needs some work too, but gets updated often. Lots of customizations available too.

have four apps in the dock and another eight apps on the home screen. i used texticoncreater icon pack to change the app pic to text then just left the text box blank. ive only done the homescreen because i have just too many apps to remember over five pages lol. easy enough to do as long as you remember where the app is on the screen.
nearly forgot, using nova launcher prime.

Really nice. U can set it so the light and shadows move when u tilt the phone or have constantly moving light source, change light colour..
I wanted to make my home screen as functional and*minimalism*as possible. Everything you see has either a hotspot or folder attached to it. I use an invisible icon to make my folders.*
Another one of the wallpapers that Lennydude posted awhile back. I don't know how long I'll leave it like this, I just wanted an excuse to try out this red clock skin and dock icons lol.
