Default Know of a better battery without having to get a different back cover?

I'm having some trouble with my battery mainly at work. My phone doesn't get great service at work and it's constantly searching for signal and draining my battery. I have to turn on airplane mode way too much just to save battery. Unfortunately I need to have my phone on for obvious reasons and can't always afford to use airplane mode. I start work at 6 and end at 2:30...sometimes after a shift of not even using it the battery is already below 50%. That's with turning airplane mode on sometimes. That's not good at all. Does anybody know of a better battery to buy that still has nfc and won't force me to buy an extended battery door? I like how slim the phone is and I don't really want to get a bulky door, and plus I already have a case for my phone and I'd hate to not be able to use it. If anybody has any info for me I'd be very thankful!

Samsung really maximised what you can get out of the battery compartment. You can get some cheap 2300mAh batteries that fit but I doubt the quality is as good as Samsung, so probably not beating the 2100mAh OEM battery for life.

If you want extra battery, you need a battery door.

However, if you're losing 50% with airplane mode on, thats not normal. You eitrher have a faulty battery, or more likely - an app is draining.

You should probably go down teh GSAM / BetterBattery Stats route to see whats going on before you spend money on buying a battery.

I have two batteries a a wall charger from QCell it was about $25 for both and the charger (NFC capable). I find that the QCell battery lasts longer than the stock battery. I have crappy service at work. When I walk out the door the battery is usually around 60%-50% and I unplug around 8:30a and leave work a little after 7p. With the stock battery it would be around 40-35% after work.

Amazon.com: QCELL 2X SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII 2100MAH BATTERY + FREE UNIVERSAL BATTERY CHARGER (COMPATIBLE WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 GT-I9300, SPRINT L710, VERIZON I535, T-MOBILE T999, AT&T SAMSUNG I747, U.S. CELLULAR R530)**WITH NFC CAPABILITIES FOR S BEAM

Instead of turning airplane mode off and on all day, how about just turning mobile data off so you can still use it as a phone?

you don't really need an "extended" battery. you can sometimes just get another Samsung OEM and it'll fix the problem.

i had this happen when i had my Galaxy Nexus, i ended up just getting another exact battery and it was better. :P

now, i have an Onite 2300 mAh + NFC. i get like an extra hour out of my phone. but what would you expect with only 200 mAh extra?

I purchased the Sporting Persistence 3080mah slim battery for my GS3. It fits in the original back cover but unfortunately does not have NFC. When I purchased mine a few months ago it was $20. It has since doubled. But I found one that has 2 batteries for 50ish. 2X 3080mAh Extended Slim Battery Dock Charger for Samsung Galaxy S3 SIII I9300 | eBay The battery works great. Lasts pretty much all day. I just charge whenever I drive.

Thanks guys. I don't know if any are solutions for me though except probably just getting another Samsung battery and seeing if it works better. Maybe. I can't turn off the mobile data because that's what I'm using for messengers. I don't think kik works without the mobile data. So that's why I've been going on and off between airplane mode and cell service/mobile data. I have been on airplane mode a bit today and when I wasn't, I sent out a few messages over kik, text, and a few phone calls and right now 68% with 2 hours left to work. I don't know if that's good or not.

SUROOT I'm not going all the way down to 50% just on airplane mode though so that's not a problem. I guess maybe the battery is fine and it's just the poor reception here that is draining my battery so much. It varies between 3G and 1X on Verizon. Very rarely do I see 4G and unfortunately there is no wifi in this part of the building.

If anybody has anymore ideas/suggestions from there just let me know. I appreciate it. And like I said, maybe the battery is fine and it's just going to happen this way because of the poor reception...
