Question How to remove/hide widgets?

My widget list (Add to Home Screen -> Apps or Widgets -> Widgets) is filled with pages and pages of useless widgets. How do I remove or hide the widgets that I'd never used? I just want to remove/hide the widgets without uninstalling/hiding the main apps associated with those widgets.

you CANNOT hide or uninstall stock widgets. Only the widgets associated with apps you have downloaded can be uninstall but not hidden.

I tried to uninstall widgets for a downloaded app, but that uninstalled the app along with the widget. Is there a way to uninstall the widgets but NOT the app?

I want to use the app, but I have no use for its widgets. I want to get rid of its widgets but keep the app.

Generally you long-press on the icon and drag to the trash. This action just removes the shortcut/widget from the screen, but not from your tray. Is this what you mean?

No, I think they want to remove them from the app drawer itself, not a home screen.

ktchong, I believe the widgets are an integral part of the app that they are associated with, and cannot be uninstalled separately - they are a function of the app.
