Default (media) app

so i have had gsm battery stats installed for a good few hours now and notice that the top thing using battery next too android system is "media" app .

what is it ?
when i go into details or manage it then says "download"

You should let it run from the time you unplug the charger till you are ready to charge it again to get more accurate results, before making any changes.

It's a bug in 4.1. Sadly there does not seem to be a fix, other than upgrading to 4.2.
Search google for it, there are thousands of posts about it on the android page on google.

Try force stop on Downloads. That worked for me to stop the battery drain until the next reboot. I'd love to know if it works for anyone else.

well i neednt have worried about it affecting battery life . got easily over a day usage .
