Angry Volume Problem

Basically at random times when i try to turn up or down the volume the phone won't let me. Its almost like volume is disabled. I thought it could be an app or the recent firmware update but it seems like that ins't the problem. The only way i can get my volume to work is by rebooting my phone. Then i can adjust the volume for a few hours, until it happens again. I've had this problem for about a week now and its extremely annoying. I apologize if this is not in the correct category.

Does it keep setting itself to vibrate after "X" amount of time?
Are you trying to adjust volume on the screen or via the volume up/down keys..

Try settings > accessibility - scroll to the bottom and check to see if "turn off all sounds" is ticked.

I always have my phone on vibrate, so the sound problem i'm having effects the media, alarm, and notifications volume. When the problem does occur i am only able to adjust the ringtone volume. I rarely use the screen to adjust the volume 99% of the time i use the rocker keys.

Are your notification volumes linked with your device volume?
