I wasn't really sure where to post this, but since it is the successor to this phone, I figured I'd post it here. What all do we know about so far? I've read a few things online such as a possible February release. It'll also apparently have an unbreakable screen which sounds kind of intriguing.
What are your thoughts? You guys planning to get the phone?
Since I am here at the airport and have nothing to do, I'll be answering to your question. Well, nothings for sure of now, neither are there any official news about the specs (AFAIK), so well, we can only speculate. Any way, it's not certain when it will be available, but it certainly won't be in February.
I've heard that this phone will jut "know" everything you could ever need. It will do this by reading your mind. Oh, snap wait a minute. That's the international version, the US version won't have that ability. Carry on.
Hmmm.. Well knowing my luck I'd end up losing the "S-pen". I figure we're in for a big screen though. I saw the recent video with the laser keyboard. That would be awesome. I don't know if that's even remotely possible though.
its too early to be talking about this .. but i dont forsee anything till at least may international (based on the sgs3) and summer for the US , so half a year at least.
sprint and t-mobile will have the ravoli maker.. the verizon version will have that feature crippled. Also the verizon version will be out 10 monthes after everyone else

The key board technology is and has already been in use for YEARS!

Of course Verizon's will make ravioli! You will just have to wait almost a year for them to begin trial uses of their own under the table funded kick backing deal application in specific areas like the huge Metropolis of Utah.
I wasn't going to get the S3 anyway, but it's screen is too big for me, and more than likely the S4's will be a bit bigger again, so I may have to move on to another manufacturer to get a top floor phone that is the size I want.

Hardly a solution. Most manufacturers, if not all, will be increasing screen-size in their top-of-the-range devices and unless you go for something ower level, you will not be able to get a screen equal or smaller than 4.3"
Hoping no S4 or that no major phone advances come out soon. I'm a 'latest and greatest' kind of guy and the people at work give me sh*t about buying new phones so often. Maybe I can keep my S3 for more than a year this time.

That's a potential problem. The only premium phone out there that doesn't have a huge screen is iPhone. This is why the S3 Mini looked such a disappointment to me.
Apols for going OT on a completely none serious thread.

I say this every time I get the latest phone. I think 'this phone is all I will ever want, they'll never better it'. Then the new version comes out and I'm forced to remortgage the house again.

I think this is so unfortunate . I too would love a super high end device with a smaller size than the s3 . I only hope they make a mini s4 with the exact specs as the regular s4.

S Mini will never come with the same specs as its bigger brother. Ever.
I think you are misunderstanding the use of the word marketing, here.
Also, I highly doubt many top tier phones breach the 5" range beyond this. We have seemed to reach the limits of comfort for the general public. 5" is ok because of the designs with edge to edge display. A 4.3" three years ago was almost the same size phone as the current 5"ers.

I am not ready to go over the current S3's size by much either and agree 5" should be the limit for phones. That has not hing to do with devices like S Mini, though. They are not and will not be top-tier devices.
