Well Verizon takes at least 3-4 weeks to put they're branding on the home button...lol, that's just a ridiculous thing if they brand it the same way they did the note 2!

What's up Rushmore ...

Howdy sean76!

I agree the extra time is due to Verizonizing the devices.

well april the 26th it should be but with the fiasco of the blue s3 release in the uk , it could be the 26th of may if something like that happens again .

also cpwh reporting record breaking pre registering . 4 times more than any other device ever made, so if thats just one company then there may be shortages elsewhere if other companies are getting these high demands too

I'm mostly curious about Sprint. From what I recall they were pretty quick with the S3 but I'm not exactly sure what the wait time was as I didn't actually know about the phone when it was first announced.

Rest assured, once the first US carrier announces a launch date, the others will be tripping over themselves to get it out at the same time or sooner.

That being said, expect the US launch to begin with Sprint on Friday May 17th 2013

Rumor has it that AT&T will be the first carrier in the USA to carry the phone and it will be out at the end of April.

Everything is a guesstimation and rumors people may have read from around the web, nothing is confirmed and no one knows exactly when the S4 will be available in the US. A late May or Early June release date is my guess on when it will become available for the US.

A bottleneck that could result in delays might be the display, since a newer design. Whatever the case, I hope Verizon offers the 64gb version, but they will probably stick with 16gb and 32gb.

Why do you need a 64gb one? that is way to much space IMO . isn't 32 enough.

CEO John Legere stated at the T-Mobile's "UnCarrier" conference that the device will arrive "about May 1st," which means, providing no major hitches arise, consumers will only have to wait around five weeks to get their hands on Samsung’s latest and greatest smartphone effort.

Considering that the other carriers want to be able to release these phones in and around the same time so as to provide their competition no advantages in the market, I see AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon to be releasing the Galaxy S4 around that same time, plus or minus a day or so.

nope. i have a 32 gb galaxy nexus. between the music, pics, hd vids, apps, files, pdfs, backups...i have about 1.5gb free. at least 20gb if not more will make it over to the new device. and i'll only be adding to it from there, so for me 32gb would not be enough. i'm glad they'll have the option for sd on this phone so i don't have to pare down what i want to keep on it.

patiently waiting for a verizon release date...

If in the US that price is high, it would be $600-700 tops, probably $650.

If not US then probably 700-800 I would think.

I use the main space for all my game emulators and a lot of games are now well over 1GB. Factor in other data apps pull in and use as well. I use the sd card for music and video.

Nope, 32gb (26GB of actual space) is not enough- especially if you are a gamer and do not want to juggle apps. I also have a 128GB iPad 4. Do not care for depending on cloud storage- especially with travel.

If the S3 & Note 2 launch trends are repeated, AT&T, Sprint & T-Mobile will probably all launch around the same week. Verizon and prepaid carriers like Metro & US Cellular will probably be delayed a couple weeks from the main group.

I think I saw an article that said the the T-Mobile GS4 will be LTE enabled and be available May 1st. Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: Here it is: http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/26/galaxy-s4-expected-to-launch-on-t-mobile-on-may-1st/

With the fact that T-Mobile's CEO opened his mouth (when he shouldn't have) about when they will have the S4, you can be sure that the other carriers won't be very far behind. There's no way that the other carriers would give any one of their competitors a chance to have the upper hand. No way.

I figure that the first week of May will be the release date for many of the carriers in the US including T-Mobile and AT&T.

I do have a feeling that when John Legere said that, the other carriers had a collective "oh crap" moment.

Verizon could care less on who is first (as they have shown in the past). They think their trump card that overrides such concerns is their coverage map. I am serious, since have had several reps tell me this (they do not agree with this, but that is apparently the corporate leadership view).

The further up the leadership chain, the more insulated you are in the bubble. Naysayers at that level are few and far, since they do not want to be kicked out of the bubble.

My guess is early June for VZW. Late May..... maybe.

My opinion of Verizon Wireless isn't very good right about now. Their claim is that they have the best coverage. HA! If they're the best network in America then I'd hate to see the worst.

my experience is vzw does have the best coverage of all the major carriers. the gap is closing though. and with the expansion of free wireless networks their edge continue to melt away.

i wouldn't switch carriers to get a phone, but that's cause vzw gets pretty much everything at some point. however, it is annoying that vzw seems to take longer than everyone else on new releases.

Tell that to people in my city who have constant dropped calls on Verizon and you'd be laughed out of the room.
