Default new galaxy s4 release date rumors. vzw, att,tmo

Leaked Staples document outs tentative carrier launch dates for the Samsung Galaxy S4

vzw may 30! wth Verizon. I sold my gnote 2 on ebay a week ago looking for a smaller phone even though I loved everything about my gnote and hoping the gs4 would be out bu end of april. Verizon still stickin to their loyal customers if this is true and it does hold some merit cause I have seen this tmo date rumored quite a few times.

If this were true, why would it surprise? Verizon is always the last. Some arrogant rubes run their company and bank on their coverage map to compensate.

It takes time to encrypt the bootloader, load it up with extra bloat, and do their "extensive device testing". If the device isn't an apple dictated device, Verizon will handle it as they please. It's sad, but true.

30 days late to the party.
If AT&T had a signal out here in the woods, I would pre-order from them right away.
I'm stuck on Verizon.

Or it could be that since the new gs4 is a hair smaller then the gs3 with a bigger screen Verizon has their team of engineers coming up with the best place for their Verizon branding. I mean look at the front of the gs4 there's no place for it and I highly doubt they want to put the logo on the home button like the note 2. Reason for delay has been found. No Verizon logo on front? No phone

The VZW S3 dozen't have a logo on the front or anywhere for that matter except the battery cover that ships with it, but the battery cover doesn't count as it has been accessorized and any battery cover from any carrier or non carrier branded S3 will fit.

My guess is the dates for the other carriers is about two weeks too early. Middish May for everybody in the US by VZW (late May).

Will TMO do a pre-order for the S4? Saw they did with the IPhone 5 just not sure if this is their MO.

Smaller phone? Isn't the Galaxy 4 5"?

When can I expect to be able to buy an unlocked, non-branded S4 online?

These dates are only tentative, and are not confirmed in any way. If the 5/30 date for verizon turns out to be true, it is very disappointing and frustrating at the same time. Just don't understand how you can release phones a month after everyone else.

They did the exact same thing with the note 2 so I wouldn't doubt that date.

"AT&T official pre-order availability and pricing for the S4 on the AT&T website with pricing as you'd expect -- $199 and two years of commitment for a 16GB model in either white or black. Those willing to go off-contract will pay the hefty $639, and if for some reason you want just a 1 year contract, you can shave that down to $449. AT&T has a April 30th ship date"

This info taken from Android Central. I am a no contract person and in NO WAY paying $640 for that phone. My S3 keeps me very happy and it seems it will for another year at least.

Ouch, if VZW isn't until 5/30, and there hasn't even been any rumors about a Sprint release date yet, that doesn't sound particularly promising about a Sprint release before June at the earliest.

That was the price of the 32GB version of S3 on VZW. Seems jacked up.

Yeah..............I paid $549 for the 16gb AT&T version of the S3.

I have had it on Straight Talk for a year now. Paid off the price of the phone with the savings I get....... ST vs AT&T in just 7 months.

BUT..................with the S4, what the heck is the added $100 for? An even amount $100............not $64.98 or $93.45............... what a rip off!

Isn't this what happened with the S3? Rumors about releases for months and it was finally July of last year, a month after everyone else, and several months after it was announced.

Yep. For this time though, some carriers are about 1.5 months earlier with tidbits of information. Seems this launch is about a month earlier (at least) than the S3. Perhaps Samsung thought Apple would release a bigger display phone this summer, so wanted to take more marketshare ahead of time. Makes sense.

Indications now though are the new iPhone will still be 4" and next year will be the bigger option. That said, just a few months ago the big rumor was a bigger iPhone.

Well everyone but Verizon has a release date now.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 priced at $150 on Sprint and T-Mobile, hits both carriers in late April

I find it hard to believe Verizon will be a month later than the other main carriers, but based on current information it could be that way. Even for Verizon that is nuts.

I'm actually scared to see the pricing too. AT&T is 199 but sprint is 249. So I'm curious to see what they are going to do.

They need to announce today when it is coming out like everyone else.

Samsung Galaxy S4 launches on seven U.S. carriers in April [updated] | BGR

BGR says on Sprint the S4 will be $149.99 for new customers, or $249.99 for upgrade. No word on whether this is the 16GB or 32GB version. Hopefully Best Buy offers a better deal then this

according to the article, samsung says it will launch on vzw in april. that would be great, but perhaps vzw didn't get the message? we would have to hear something very soon if that were the case.

The article doesn't say that. It says it'll launch on those 7 carriers "starting" in April, which implies it could be later for some of the carriers (e.g., Verizon).

If VZW is one month later than the others, that IMO is an epic fail for them and they will lose some customers. How is that EVER a good thing with a business model they have? Answer is usually never.

Not seeing any info on 32gb models, so perhaps 32gb are alter on?

As far as I can tell, the press release about the 7 carriers doesn't specify whether they are talking about 16gb or 32gb models. For example, it says Sprint will price the S4 at $249.99 for upgrade, but doesn't specify if this is for the 16gb or 32gb version. You'd think Sprint would be stupid to price their 16gb version $50 more than everyone else, but you never know. I'd wait for confirmation about which models are priced at which price points on each carrier.

It is no doubt about it, an epic fail in my opinion as well. All signs are pointing to a May release for Verizon with every other major US carrier announcing when they will release the phone, leaving Verizon on the outside looking in. Just wish Sprint had better service where I'm at... oh well

Didn't want to start a new thread-- do we know if the Verizon version is international? I think I heard that all of their new Android phones are. And I know that the FCC filing had HSPA included, but it didn't say that that for sure meant that it was international capable, just that it was likely.

Modern day flagship Verizon phones have been coming with standard gsm/edge radios with limited hspa compatibility. However they have locked the radio files to prevent people from using them on AT&T/T-Mobile. However they are usually unlocked for use overseas.

Ok, cool. It's good to know that the option is there in case I do start some international travel for work. Thanks!

I didn't think they were. I didn't think they could lock them now with LTE.

I know for a fact the Verizon iPhone 5 and htc DNA both work on AT&T out of the box.

Now I need to decide if I should leave Sprint and get the S4 elsewhere or stay with them and go with a different phone. I won't be paying over $200 for the S4.

I know quite a few people who tried to use RAZRs, s3s, and bionics and could not get data to work. Many were able to get voice and sms working though.

We can't blame them too much for the delay on the Note 2 -- it was probably pretty tough getting the Verizon logo on all those home buttons.

No big news here but Verizon did confirm a May release for the S4, however still no exact date. I guess it's nice to hear big red finally saying something though.

Not sure potentially confirming a one month lag with everyone else is a good thing. That is probably the next shoe to drop.

Meh.

vzw is pia with the delayed releases. i know i'd be fooling myself to think i'd switch carriers to get this phone, but it will be annoying to hear and see everyone else playing with their new toy while we vzw users have to sit in the corner and wait our turn for a whole month.

< so switching to sprint one of these days with in the next month or so to get the s4. I like VZW but there is no more unlimited data and I need Sprints plan is great coverage for that. So since now I can't upgrade with VZW I must switch so I can upgrade once a year. FYI, I'm still on the unlimited plan that is still around for us lucky ones. If I could afford the phone out right I would go that way but hell no.
