Default Galaxy S4 + iPad to utilize iMessage on phone?

Hey all,

New to the forum and back on my droid game.

I just switched from an Iphone 4s to the S4 and I was wondering if anyone has explored somehow utilizing a jailbroken iPad and any android phone together in order to use iMessage on their droid.

The idea is that my iPad still has my phone number address (as well as 3 other email addresses) associated with iMessage. Would it be possible to make a messaging app on an android phone that could tap into a jailbroken iPad and use its Imessage?

So I would be able to leave my iPad at home connected to a wifi network. Take my S4 anywhere and be able to have my imessages forwarded to my s4 and back again.

If someone has your phone number, they can still text you. Unless you have a lot of people texting you via iPad or iPod there isn't going to be an issue getting a text message. Aside from being a different color and using available data as opposed to cellular towers to send the message there really isn't a difference. If for some reason you ARE going to be getting a lot of texts from people who do not have phones, I recommend you donate your old phone to them.

The problem I have is with group messaging with people who have iPhones. I can send them a group chat but when they reply I don't receive the message.

I have read about the problems associated with having an iPhone and switching to an android in regards to imessage, but what I am looking to do is still utilize imessage via my iPad and my phone. I was just curious if this was even possible.

I think you can disassociate your number with iMessage, keeping just the email address, and still utilize it. Not sure because I just disabled iMessage altogether since I was annoyed about not getting some texts from iPhone users. Just wasn't worth having to maintain conversations in two devices.

Angry

i'm having the same issue with any and all texts from an iphone. I can get them on my ipad but not my s4. I've tried having them sent to my email instead of my number and that didnt work. Ive tried unregistering my devices with apple's support page and that didnt work. I'm really frustrated because i dont want to tell half my friends to turn off imessage in order to text me. If i turn off imessage i dont get the texts at all, and half my friends are iphone people.
