Default Kenwood head unit support?

Ok so im back on android. I left the android world with an HTC sensation, jumped on an iphone 4s, updated to the 5 for about a week, And now im back on android with a Samsung Galaxy S4. Here is some info on the phone

software version: L720VPUAMDL
model number: SPH-L720

Now, here is my problem. I recently purchased a Kenwood Head unit for my 04 Dodge SRT-4 and i know our phone has an app specifically for the headunit. If i connect the phone via AUX port, it will play music just fine, But when i connect it, via USB, my phone charges but says "NA Device" and wont play music. I would like to be able to play music via USB. Has anyone have this issue before. Sorry for the noob question

I get the same thing on my Kenwood deck. Not sure how old your deck is, mine came with the truck and it is not compatible via usb in older Kenwoods. I *think newer Kenwoods have something for them, but Idk for sure. Be interested to know if there is something available for us.
