Default Is there a limit on the gb of the memory card I use?

Ok so I bought a T-mobile Samsung galaxy s4 about 2 weeks ago. It has about 9 gb of memory. I heard that the overall memory limit of the s4 is 64gb. Is that true or can I buy a 64gb memory card and use it (which will total the memory of the phone to 73gb)?

That is correct. According to the tech specs on Samsung's site, the top limit is 64gb.

Under "Connectors".

If you plan on getting a card, please consider buying the premium quality one. You might save few dollars at first, but low end cards are starters of number of forum topics here. From cards failing, to losing data, you name it....

You can use a 64gb memory card. The specs say: "MicroSD External Memory Slot (up to 64GB)".

Currently using a 64gb in my sprint s4. It does like to display "memory card damaged. please reformat" after I reboot my phone. simply go and unmount then remount it and you'll be fine though

64GB is the largest available but it does support larger cards, but they're gonna be very expensive.

I was wondering about this.

At the moment there are 128GB SDXC cards but no micro SDXC cards larger than 64GB. I read someone from SanDisk implying that they wouldn't be producing one this year, which surprised me since the full size ones are out already.

I imagine that a phone that supports SDXC as the S4 does should cope fine with 128GB cards but they will, as you rightly say, be pretty expensive for a while yet.

You try it first .

On a slightly more serious note, I did see someone suggest a ribbon adapter and a full size SDXC card as an alternative but I wouldn't have thought there is enough room to make this practical.
