Default Bluetooth car connection and Music

Ok, my Galaxy connects to the bluetooth in my Prius fine and works with the car phone ok. Here's my question. When I have the phone connected to the car via bluetooth and also plug in the jack to play music/internet radio, etc. and I make a phone call, I can get the phone audio, but the other party can't hear my voice. I have to unplug the jack.

Let me try to make this clearer. the music jack plugs into the earphones place. When I make a call via bluetooth, I have to unplug the jack so the other party can hear me.

Anyone know how to fix this? This is the only phone I've ever had that does this. HTC, Motorola, all work fine. There has to something I'm not doing to make this work.

help!!

Pretty weird :/

I haven't tried that on my S4, I used the set-up you describe on my old GN and it worked properly (i.e. the way you describe being able to use BT while the music jack is plugged in)

Are you using the same cable? it sounds like it thinks there is a "mic" heaphones connected?

yeah, the S4 says headphones are connected because I'm plugged in to play music, and it will dial and I can hear the party that answers, but they can't hear me until I unplug the cable.

why do you have the jack....I play my music directly through Bluetooth and the music goes off during calls.

I think I still have my cable, if I get a chance I'll play with it after work...

I have a much older pickup which I sometimes drive. It uses a cassette adaptor through a plug in, and doesn't have the problems you describe.

I do wonder if the plug you're using somehow is telling the phone it has a microphone that doesn't exist.

you know, I'll bet you're right!! it's the same audio cable I used with my old Droid Incredible and that didin't have an issue. Wonder if there is a phone setting somewhere that I can adjust/correct this with??
