I have been using Seidio Surface cases and holsters for all of my phones, they're very slim and sleek, yet provide quite good protection.

I'll be very interested in seeing what they come up with for the S5.

I've been using an Otterbox Commuter case and holster for my S4. (Not upgrading to S5 though)

I think there will be some challenges with the S5 cases, due to the charging slot cover they added. There needs to be access to it, room to swing it open, etc.

Water resistance is good, that charging door ? Not so much , both for cases and for any potential docks one might want to use ...

+1 for Seidio! I've used them for the last two smart phones I've owned and they have been great. Great protection without the super bulk of an Otterbox.

Default Galaxy S5 Cases

Found some cases around.

On Amazon I found, i-Blason.
They are very cheap in price and have some nice designs.

On Amazon I found as well, Rearth? Ringke? for the S5.
I think would be my first choice though.
-Fairly cheap
-Good amount of variety
-Reviews or their products to seem to up hold to high standard.
They got a fusion case that im learning towards

I ended up going with this Spigen for my S5. I'm glad I waited an extra days as the price has dropped from $26.99 to $14.99.

I'll probably go with the i-Blason as well if I don't just decide to carry it around naked (and boy let me tell you that's hard with no pockets). This is the first Samsung phone I honestly feel safe about not having a case. I'm still getting a Ghost Armor screen protector for shatter protection though.

That's a nice one too. Where did you order it from? I haven't heard of that brand before.

Here is the link: CLICK HERE

You can look at the companies past cases as they are highly rated. This one here comes in multiple colors. I would order the case now as they will increase the price upon release of the S5.

That does look nice indeed. I'm not sure about the metal buttons on the sides of the case though. Are those pretty effective? Have you used one of these brands of cases before?

After seeing that one, I really like this one too and it is only $3.00 more.

I like those Spigen cases too. Thinking about the Tough Armor and the Slim Armor ones. I heard the Neo Hybrid case makes the power button really touchy, in other words it gets accidentally pressed often. That is with S4 though, maybe it will be okay with the S5.

Yeah, that slim CaseitUp one is nice and barebones and good for scratches. I'm going to get something with more protection for this new phone.

I like this one a lot. I really like minimalistic cases.

I will get the Mophie battery case, when they release them. Unfortunately they aren't listed on their home page yet.

I have one for my iPhone and it is fantastic. Very minimal in size and I can bring my battery from dead to 100% while out and about.

Very true. But with the case, there is nothing extra to carry around.

Hey guys, I just received the new Spigen Neo Hybrid case today. I picked it up off Amazon for $14.99. The case looks good and is very well built. The case looks and feels premium.

I went with the Metal blue color for the outer ring. As a bonus, Spigen threw in 3 screen protectors for free! The screen protectors alone retail for $9.99 so its a nice freebie.

Now, I just need the S5 to get here.

Just out of curiosity, are the invisible shield screen protectors compatible with the Spigen cases?

Does this case have cutouts on the side for volume and power? Or are they buttons?

Hello,

The case has metal buttons for the power and volume. They look nice and are solidly constructed. The rest of the case has cutouts.

Can you use one of the Invisible Shield screen protectors with the Spigen cases? I noticed they made their own and I can't really see why you couldn't use the Invisible Shield screen protector with their cases, but I thought I'd ask.

I've been having an issue with the Otterbox Defender Case I purchased direct from Otterbox. Power button in the case will sleep and wake the phone, but to turn it on or off is not working. I'm trying to work with Otterbox to resolve this issue. I liked the Otterbox case that I used on my S II Skyrocket and had none of these issues. Hopefully the matter will be resolved soon. I'll update as things progress.

I just got the electric blue slim armor for mine a few days ago and Spigen sent me an email saying they were sending me a new shell since they have made improvements in the fit since I ordered mine.

I just ordered the Spigen Tough Armor in Gunmetal from Amazon. Amazon.com: Spigen® [Heavy Duty] Samsung Galaxy S5 Case Protective [Armor] [Tough Armor SF Smooth Black] Non Slip Surface Dual Layer EXTREME Protection Cover Heavy Duty Case for Galaxy S5 / Galaxy SV / Galaxy S V (2014) - SF Smooth Black (SGP10761):

$17.99 and free 2day shipping with my Prime account seemed like a good price and it looks a lot less bulky than the Otterbox. I usually keep my phones naked most of the time, but figured this would be a good case to use while outdoors: hiking, camping, etc.

I've got this. I'm a fan of the TPU cases, they offer enough protection for me (though, admittedly, not for some who may be a little rougher on their phones).

I really like the slim armor one. I was originally going with one of the tough armor models, but I read a review that said the flat back side makes it slippery to hold onto at times.

Does anyone have the Spigen Ultra Fit TPU case for their S5? Can you comment on how you like it or post pictures please!

Here you go. Sorry they're not the best pics but it's the best I could do right now. Mine is the gunmetal color. Debating on also getting the metal slate too.

My Humble opinion is that it is a crime to destroy such design and pretty-face of the phone (which is the first time Samsung actually makes it amazing) with a full fat cover which makes the phone bulky.

My advice is Buy a screen protector and you are good. No need for Armors and big cases, just keep it in your pocket face in. :-)

I kept my SGS3 like that without a scratch, no protection at all.

I usually get a flip case from ebay for about 2-3-4 GBP each for when I go to the mountain, running and etc.

Anyone ever try ULAK or Cimo cases? I just ordered some from Amazon to try. I currently have a Samsung flip case which is nice but the flip gets in the way when taking pics and such so I want to switch. I like the Spigen and others mentioned but I got a white phone and they are mostly black (and I want a blue) and I think the black and blue wouldn't look as nice with a white phone.

Default I like TPU

I just ordered a TPU case from Amazon. Neither the case or phone are here, yet. I used the used the very slim line hard cases. However, I've switched to the soft TUP cases, mainly because they offer better protection in case I drop my phone. I did drop one once onto a cement floor. The TPU case the surrounds all of the edges really protected it well. The TPU cases are just a tiny bit fatter than the hard, slim cases, but in my case worth it.

Besides offering better protection from drops, they are very easy to get on and off quickly. I always carry spare batteries, and frequently need to swap batteries, so being able to get the case on and off quickly and easily is a must. The TPU cases are great for that.

The TPU cases are also very inexpensive, and they come in a nice variety of pretty colors. Now, even printed designs. The one I've been using for over a year now also still looks brand new. They are readily available on Amazon and eBay. If you need one quickly, there are several available with Amazon Prime.

I am also a fan of the TPU Cases and have used them for years and to me they also have worked as well as the expensive cases and look just as good. All the brands are good.

I would love to be able to do this. However my job would easily destroy my phone with out notice if it was not in some sort of protective case. Not everyone has a 9-5 cubical job where their phone sits on a desk all day.
