Default Screen replace

Hi all,

The screen on my galaxy spica (GTI 5700 I think is the model number?) has been smashed for a while, and has recently stopped working altogether, luckily I just upgraded my contract and got a shiny new nokia, since all I could do was answer calls, and not even see who was calling.

Unfortunately I have some rather important data I need to remove from the phone, which I (stupidly) didn't back up before it was to late. Namely, text message conversations, and my contacts list.

Firstly, I have taken apart the phone and removed the screen, but after enquiring on samsungs website, they do not provide the replacement screen module at present so if any body knows somewhere I CAN get a replacement screen, please let me know.

The problem is with the spica, that in order to connect your phone to the computer, you have to select (Using the touch screen) the mode you want the connection in (Mass transfer or synced with Kies PC suite (Which never really worked properly for me anyway)), so I can't access anything without the screen AFAIK.

I was hoping some knowledgeable person here may be able to suggest a way that I CAN remove the data (Or replace the screen). I'm sure there must be a way, like some third party software for example?...Or if anyone could point to a guide for screen replacement for this phone?

P.S. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place

(I also had that problem with the spica that apparently so many others also had, after looking for solutions on the web, where I was unable to connect it to my google account, and thus use half of the features on it, without doing a master reset and losing everything. If that makes a difference...)
