USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy Spica

Hi,

I don't know where to get the USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy Spica model.

Does any one know where I can download them from?

here

you can try that but if you have problems like "your device is now ready to use" but you can't see 'Samsung Android Composite Device' and/or 'Samsung Android USB modem' in the device manager you can search for the leaked NPS 1.5 and it will install the necessary driver for the spica.

for the NPS. make sure you phone is not connected to the computer while installing.
then uncheck the 'Mass storage only' and i think you should check the 'USB debugging' on your phone then connect you phone. NPS should install the necessary drivers and NPS should detect you phone as GT-i5700 and UMS Composite something....

Installing Kies will give you working USB drivers.

Hi all,
My phone (GT - I5700) Galaxy spica does not seem to be detected by Kies.Its been updated to 2.1. My phone name does show up in the top right hand corner of KIES, but i cannot access my phone book , nor my messages or anything else. I can just see data inside my SD Card. can you tell me where i am going wrong and assist me.

Now enable
USB Debugging [x]

Phone should now be visible in Kies.

my galaxy spica isnt visible in kies either. i have windows vista. why wont this phone work. i want to tether it.

Have you enabled USB Debugging?

You have a number of choices on how to tether your phone.

i tried usb debugging. however, every time i try to open kies, my computer freezes. what am i doing wrong?

If you want to edit your contacts/calander, sync these with your GMail account, then log into gmail and edit as you will.

If you wish to see the data on the SD card, mount the card, and browse it, as an external drive from your PC.

Forget Kies and NPS.

I am not able to connect spica to pc through kies. It gives error

"Device not supported by kies"..

wat shud i do??

Thank you! Been trying to figure out how to transfer stuff to my SD card for days, but nothing seemed to work. Until now

It's absolutely amazing that Samsung can't manage to build simple storage device drivers for their devices that don't require the users to jump through hoops like this. Or at least provide clear instructions with the software that explains what needs to be done.

I'll most certainly not be buying another of their devices in the future... despite the fact that I really like the devices themselves.

Unfair, to an extent.

You should complain about their rubbish support, rather than criticise their products. You did after all find out the answer here. All we want is solid products with good support.

You don't need to go through this part if you just want to mount your SD Card as a storage device. For that, just plug your Spica in and then drag down the alert to get the Mount option.

There is a bug with some of the Spica firmwares (I had it happen a lot with the factory 1.5 that came with mine) where it won't always auto-detect when you plug in your Spica. Usually changing USB options will "wake it up", which I'm guessing is what's happened in your case. You can also use the keypad code *#7284# from your dialer to force the USB options to "PDA".

So if you want to blame Samsung, blame them for the bug. *shrug*

I ve been looking for days and days a solution to this !! man you should join al the forum and post this answer ( teh Key pad thing ) it is the only way and the easiest way to fix all the problem people has ever had with their samsung GTI 5700 AKA GALAXY PORTAL(in europe) or GALAXY SPICA ( elesewhere )
