Sad SSHDroid working for anyone (w/out root)?

Does anyone have SSHDroid working on an unrooted GT 10.1?

Iím always getting:
Code:
$ ssh -p 2222 192.168.5.4
ssh: connect to host 192.168.5.4 port 2222: Connection timed out
where 192.168.5.4 is the address of the tablet. Same behavior when I configure SSHDroid to use another high port. (If I try to connect to a port where SSHDroid is NOT running, I instead get Connection refused.)

Does anyone know alternative apps (which provide sshd functionality)?

I don't think it has any functionality on a non-rooted device.

This really sucks. When shopping tablets, I was so cocky with ďoh, I donít need a USB port or removable SD cards; Iíll just transfer files with sftp/scp, which is much faster and convenient anywayĒ.

What is it with the GT? This works just flawlessly with tons of Android phones! (And I canít even transfer non-photo files via USB! Kies is not an option for this Linux user.)

At least I got the GT working as an FTP server, using https://market.android.com/details?id=xcxin.filexpert

So far, that app too has been choking on setting up a WebDav or SSH server.

P.S. I donít want to use proprietary protocols such as Box etc. Thatís not how the Internets are supposed to work!

No. It works with root or without root. When couple with winSCP, it is the best wireless file transfer. Of course, without root you wont be able to see system files.
