Never tried that so I don't know if it's possible. I've read that USB sticks and memory cards can be accessed through the Tab, but perhaps the S3 doesn't allow access through to the memory card.

You should be able to setup bluetooth or NFC communication between the two and transfer files back and forth. It's not the same as using one as storage, but it'll let you move files.
