It sounds a little like what's just been happening to me. It just started, and seems to be getting worse. Sometimes now, the screen even goes black. I spent a long time with a support chat. They finally had me do a factory reset - which didn't work at all.
Now, I have a mailing label to send it in for repair. They said it might cost $200. I'm just out of warranty - and sick about it.
