I have a galaxy note 10.1 - updated to android 4,1,1 - using Kies 2.5.1.12123_2 - I cannot sync S Planner with Outlook (MSO 2010). USB cable connects OK, Preparing to sync never progresses once started. Any advice to allow getting the Outlook calendar onto the tablet would be appreciated. Thanks - Mike

I have a similar problem.
I have always synced with Outlook, via Kies. I have Kies set up to automatically sync contacts and schedules whenever the gadget is connected. I do it for my phone (Galaxy S2) and my Tab 10.1.
Recently sync of schedule on my Tab 10.1 has failed at about the 98% point, with a caption "sync cancelled by user".
I do not experience the same problem with my phone. It processes normally.
Please don't suggest using Google! That is not my query, nor that of the OP!
If I wanted to use Google I would use Google!
What is the solution/fix for the reported problem?

I never said there was anything wrong with Google. I simply have not chosen to use it as the center of my activities.
One of the reasons I left Apple (iPhone) in a preference for Android is that I wanted the freedom of choice to do things my way, not theirs.
Android has been perfect for this and as everything in my world of employment as well as my private life runs via MS products, and my phone and tablet worked perfectly well with these, it has been great.
Now there appears to be a glitch of some kind with my Tab 10.1's connectivity. The Galaxy S2 is still processing it fine.
So, having flamed me for not choosing to center on Google(!), does anyone have an answer to the problem?
uhm sorry other than that I got nuthin.
I had heard bad things about kies and coming off of a blackberry to an android I wanted the wireless sync. I assumed wireless sync. why wouldn't it work? Because google and microsoft are competitors and it took me a third party ap, companionlink, to make it all work the way I expected it to right out of the box. but nothing was easy. it was a learning curve for me. now I don't even think about it.
so any way I'm just sayin I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers, this is just what I did to make it work for me.
Select S Planner.
Press Home button.
Scroll down to SETTINGS.
Select CALENDAR.
Put a check mark against MY CALENDAR as this is the calendar that Outlook regards as being compatible.
Start Kies up on the PC and connect the phone. The phone should then be recognised and then select SYNC on the Kies menu and select the appropriate items. i.e. Calendar, Contacts etc.

On investigation I believe I have found the solution.
It's called Microsoft Surface Pro !
Honestly, with key functions like this no longer working and Sammy not updating I think it's time to find a replacement.
Will give my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to the wife for her to use as an e-reader!
