Cry PC Connectivity error

I just bought the Galaxy Tab 2 and installed Kies on my system. I can connect wirelessly but I hate to find (it takes ages to find) one album of songs amongs 6 GB data on my system that Kies scans automatically.

I would like to connect my tab to the PC like any other drive and be able to copy files like I did with my previous galaxy phone.

When I connect, it gives me two options:

1. MTP
2. Camera

MTP never works. Windows gives the "Device is not configured propery (Code 1) error in Device Manager.

In Camera mode, window gives a message that it is connected and shows it in My Computer as P3100 but no pictures on the camera (I took more than 200 snaps just before connecting it to my PC.)

I have Windows XP Home Edition (SP3), so I understand that Windows Medial Player 11 is needed for MTP but I am still not sure why can't I connect my tab as a storage drive simply?

By the way, the manual says that you can simply connect your device to your computer and transfer files normally.

I read that Samsung techs asked someone to wait for new drivers to be posted in May 2012 and ETA is about 15 days but till date, no drivers are posted on their site. Very strange.

What do I do???

Sri Harsha.
