"With Adobe Flash player" - Samsung website

The samsung website says "With Adobe Flash player you have access to more videos, websites and games. Instantly enjoy the latest movies or TV shows."

However the device appears to not have Flash installed.

What the? I specifically read the description on the Samsung website before I purchased this tablet. Isn't this false advertising?

Flash app is available on the play store for free. All you have to do is install it, and set the "plug ins" to always on in the settings options.

I am watching movies and television shows without issue on my P3113

Flash is no longer available from Google Play. You can however download it from this link, then run it:

You'll need to go into Settings, Security, then check the box labeled "Unknown sources" in order to allow for the installation of this app.

Oh, BTW, Flash will only work in the stock browser, not Chrome or any other.

Adobe Flash Player is no longer available on Google Play (probably because Google and Adobe behave like little children and Android 4 does not support Flash anymore).

But you can install it on 4.0 and 4.1 outside of the Play store:
* Get the most recent version for Android 4.0 from this Adobe download page. (The 4.0 version also works for 4.1 - I just tried it.)
* Check in Settings \ Security on your tablet if "Unknown Sources" is flagged. (You can flag it just for this installation, then unflag it again.)
* In the download folder, click on the file you have just download. This will install Flash Player.

Using the above method, I can watch Flash videos in the standard Android browser. I'm not sure if it works with Chrome.

Flash also works in Dolphin browser, but Chrome does not support Flash on mobile devices.

Does anyone know if flash will continue to work when/if Galaxy Tab 2 gets Jelly Bean?

See my post #4 above. I installed the Flash version for Android 4.0 (ICS) on version 4.1 (JB) without problem.

I am also running Flash on JB 4.2 (CM 10.1) without issue
I am currently using Boat Browser . that also supports Flash

other then chrome most of the other browsers should support flash including the stock android browser.

Hi all - apologies for jumping in with a question for my first post, but on the whole I've been able to find the information I needed from existing posts.

I am having problems getting flash to run once downloaded though. I thought I had downloaded it from the link above (and did allow unknown downloads). I'm not sure I'm getting it to run/open correctly, how can I be sure? And do I definitely have to use the stock browser? I'd downloaded Firefox as my preference.

If you do it correctly, you can't miss it. You'll get an Adobe pop-up saying Flash is installed.

You should have an icon called "Downloads" in your app list. The Adobe Flash file should be in there after download. Just tap on it to install. (If I remember well, you'll get a yes/cancel pop-up and then the "installed" message.)

I don't use Firefox on the tablet. But if Firefox is already installed before installing Flash, I would expect it to work with both browsers.

You just need to make sure that you change the flash plug in setting to always on - with whatever browser you choose.

For instance, I am using Boat browser on CM 10.1 custom ROM (using Android 4.2.1) and since Android and Chrome do not support Flash (or vice versa) on new released versions - the default setting is set to off.

I update my settings to always on - installed flash, and it is all good. You should have an icon in your apps drawer for Flash. Quick easy way to ensure it is working is to run the app - your browser of choice should open with a flash player storage screen. If you Gert that screen - great. If you get a blank screen - check your browser settings.

Flash is moderately easy to download.
First of all you have to change the privacy settings to allow apps to be installed from sources other than the play store.

Then you go to the archived flash player versions and download version Flash Player 11.1.for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.27)

I'm pretty sure thats the one that has the least bugs and it works the best for me.

You have to do this through the standard internet browser though and it will only run on the standard internet browser if I am correct.
I installed it back on Ice Cream Sandwich and it's still running perfectly for me even on Jellybean today on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 .
