Default Jb 4.1.2

Just got it last night for my Tab 2 7 (gt-p3100). Two new apps that I've noticed: Paper Artist, and Group cast. The Gallery app has changed. Noticed a new feature in the display settings (At least I don't remember it) call smart stay. Keeps the tab on regardless of screen timeout if the tab can detect your eyes. Tried it and a lot depends on lighting.

WS1, where are you located, in the States? I'll have to check mine when I get home in the morning.

Thanks for the reply.... so looks like even tab will have the same features like the note 2 and the s3. i am sure there should be a multi-window feature included then there two.

I'm in Canada with an unlocked tab 2 international version (updates by way of Hong Kong). There is no multi-window feature that I can find. The only change in the display settings is the "smart stay".

You were on 4.1.1, upgraded to 4.1.2, and then went back to 4.0.4? Why?

Hong Kong, Taiwan and Croatia(!) so far. You can track it here (there are different dropdown selections for the various model #s):

Firmwares SamMobile

You might not be able to update your device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right away as the update is rolling out in phases. So, it might not yet be available for your country or network provider (If Your device is Carrier branded) but don’t worry the update will arrive soon.

Some of the Enhancements in the new Jelly Bean Update (N.B. this is for the Note):
- Android 4.1.2 – Build JZO54K
- Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
- Multi-View (Multi Windows Multitasking, same as in Note II)
- Multi-View can also be disabled
- Page Buddy
- Notification Panel can now be customized
- New Additions in Notification Panel
- Smart Rotation (Screen Display adjusts to your angle of sightings)
- Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard (Like Swipe or Android 4.2 Keyboard)
- Samsung’s Cloud services
- Features like Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play
- New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
- 2 Home screen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now

Samsung releases Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note |*SamMobile

I'm looking for the same information. (I also went back to 4.0, like you.)

From the screenshots in the article linked by AnciusD there seem to be some new options regarding the notification bar. But it looks as if the bar itself is still stuck at the top.

Can anyone using 4.1.2 confirm this please?

looks like samsung is going to stick to nexus7 UI style with the seven" tablets.. notification bar will be always on top now.. I have learned to leave with that.. so this update will bring all the features from note and the S3. the multi-window and the new notification bar is gr8 on s3 and i always wanted the smart stay feature on the tab.

no sign of the update here in India though...

Not sure what you're talking about, got 4.1.1 weeks ago, the wifi only version. In the U.S.

Have you manually checked, or plugged it into a PC with Kies installed? What version are you on? Model GT-P3113? Is it rooted?

If it came from your carrier (AT&T, Verizon etc.) I'm not going to be much help, because mine is the wifi-only version, purchased from a retailer. It's possible the carrier is responsible for pushing out updates, and not Samsung. I just don't know.

You haven't gotten 4.1.1 yet? I got mine around Jan. or Feb. The wifi only, GT-P3113 model.

I'm waiting on 4.1.2. Try manually updating if you haven't.

Two bits of news:

The Galaxy Tab 2 by Samsung will receive Android 4.1.2 and end with Android 4.2.2. Samsung will no longer support the Galaxy Tab 2 after the Android 4.2.2 update. The updates must be done before the end of September.
Samsung to update the Galaxy Tab 2 until Android 4.2.2

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 just received an Android 4.1.2 update. This is update is only for T-Mobile users in the United States. You can update by using KIES or the OTA services. The new Android 4,1,2 Jelly Bean update gives your tablet a boost in performance and battery. Samsung will update the Galaxy Tab 2 to Android 4.2.2 and this update is expected around June.

Hmmm, I was hoping it may have gotten Key Lime Pie also. But now I guess that may be out of the picture. Maybe next year I'll be ready for a newer tablet anyway.

Thanks Guys

I updated my TAb2 this weekend here in india...

Although its is a 4.1.2 update. i was disappointed coz there were so many new features the samsung could include.

Only difference i noticed was the Smart stay which keeps telling that it cannot detect my eyes....

no multi-window feature like in Note2 and S3
