Notsure Battery at 99%

I just purchased a new GT7+ and charged it to 100% out of the box. Installed a charging app and did a complete charge including the trickle charge. However, as soon as I unplug the tablet from the charger, the battery immediately drops to 99%. This is a second unit as the first unit that I had did the same thing. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Simon

Entirely normal, as soon as it is unplugged it is no longer at maximum power, I guess is the thinking behind it.

I find that the battery level reporting appears to drop pretty rapidly from 100 to 90, but then it slows down. Overall the battery usage seems to be pretty good on the tab. Turning off the wifi when not in use helps (in contrast my LG phone does not seem to matter whether I leave the wifi on or off). Note if I put the settings to turn off the wifi automatically when the screen is off, I will get random reboots and the occasional wifi error.

On my wife's iPad 3, the battery level will stay at 100% for up to about an of usage before dropping to 99. Perhaps they designed the battery level to give a false high report. But in the end the battery on the ipad does last a real long time. We always leave the wifi on (takes extra clicks to turn it on and off in the ipad, but there appears to be no reason to turn it off). The ipad has a bigger battery but it also has a bigger brighter screen; we never have to fuss about finding ways to conserve battery on the ipad.

I noticed this morning after charging that on ICS, it does show 100% for a relatively brief period of time. Ten seconds after I unplugged, I looked and it still said 100%. A couple of minutes or so later , I looked at it again, and it was down to 99%.

I wasnt using it at the time so I can't tell you how long it took to get to 99% exactly.

It happens to mine as well....
charge it overnight to 100% then about a minute or two after unplugging it, it goes to 99%.

Hopefully ICS will fix this issue.

Remember to use the task manager to kill any apps that's running in the background or still in memory to help conserve battery life.

This sounds like standard behavior. I've read that batteries only reach a true 100% charge when they're plugged in and powered off. If you leave the device plugged in while charging it will never reach a true full capacity.

You shouldn't worry about the readings, worry about the actual lasting capacity of your tablet. Mine can reach approx 10hrs while tethering to a laptop.
