Default Capacitive vs Conductive styli

Bit the bullet after dipping my toe in the 'droid tablet world with a bottom-of-the-line MID and am awaiting delivery of my Galaxy Tab.

Biding my time searching for every cool accessory, I noticed that the official Samsung styli is described as "conductive" but virtually every other tablet styli is identified as "capacitive."

Do I really need a Samsung branded styli to maximize functionality?
