Default Galaxy Tab - "Failed to run firmware upgrade. Unknown error occured.."

Hey, I see there are a few posts about this error msg. But none with applicable answers.
So I have a Galaxy Tab running 2.2, and when I plug it into my Kies(updated) it shows the firmware update, which is for 2.3... But after the download it just shows "Failed to run firmware upgrade. Unknown error occured."
Everytime. I didn't do anything weird with my Tab. Its just a normal one from the shop. Another computer (so far) hasn't worked.
Anything I can do with my Tab or Pc to make it work? Like take out sd card or sim or something?
