my phone doesnt have android 2.2 when it should. someone help me out here. or is verizon just ******ed?

This is a altell/us cellular phone, not verizon.

Actually, Verizon also sells this phone.

Yeah, I work for an indirect agent of Verizon and we sell the phone. Its not being sold via the website or thru any corporate channels. As a result you won't see an official OTA to android 2.2 for this device. I'm not sure where to get it, but I think you can download it from Samsungs website.

Do not update to the 2.2 from the samsung website....the phone will not work right! I did it and now my phone doesn't do anything but make recieve calls and text.

Absolutely DO NOT install the update on Samsung's website. I killed 2 Gems trying to install it after the Verizon reseller assured me it would work. I ended up getting a Vortex instead as a free upgrade (after rebate).
