Question Just a question or two...

I have Mobile Nation as my carrier, now the Gem is what I personally am using, (I bought it from MN). They only have them once in awhile. Problem is, my Son and wife like mine so the want one too.

Long story short (to late, I know), if I buy a gem off eBay (or where ever), and it is running Eclair (Android 2.1) can I upgrade it to Froyo (2.2 or even 2.2.2 like mine is running) with generic Samsung updates.

Also I have read (here and other places) that doing so to a Verizon Gem will break it. My question for this is, is that only broken for use with Verizon, or can my carried flash it over to MN and it work fine.

One last thing, does it matter if the phone to be flashed was under contract or not, I have read a TON of conflicting information.

Thanks for any and all help,
Phellow Phreaker
