ADB Logcat was showing a BatteryWidget updating every few seconds while the screen was off.
I uninstalled it and turned off WiFi.
Phone charging now, hopefully I can get a bit more than 1.5 or 2 days out of it with this change.
Interesting, the phone did not come with a pouch in the box from Bell Mobility.
Since I dropped the pouch...I charge my phone every 6-10 days depending on usage...
Could you please describe your usage? Are you in 3G or 2G network, using WiFi, using 2G/3G data, using GPS, auto-brightness, auto-sync, background data?
Interesting at 92% after 14 hours, something seems better.
Spare Parts is showing the "Dialer" as the highest user under partial wake, wonder what it is trying to dial when the phone is not in use.
Followed by NetCounter. which is showing the phone used 112k of 3g data on its own today, As I haven't touched it since charging last night.
Well most of the time i have 3G off, all sync off, wifi always on as well gps. On average, i use 10-20min/ day each of youtube, music, skype, market, gmail, maps, google and corporate mail.
I only turn on network data manually on demand. My gsm provider has altered this cupcake to install something called Moxier mail which tends to launch on its own (this the main app that consumes battery from my side)
In my case (IK4) battery was killed in 12 hours - while few calls (total 10 minutes), HF over BT 4 hours, 15 mins of WiFi incl. market.
Now after i removed TasKiller I have 77% of battery after 14 hours!
Just few calls, HF@BT 1 hours, Wifi 15 min.

In both cases NO data transmission at all.

That's because you've used one of the TasKiller widgets. Don't use the widgets and everything will be fine! In the latest version the TasKiler TaskBar Widget does not auto-update, and therefore is safe to use.

I've found the latest O2 firmware boosted my battery by miles, used to finish work with about 20-40% depending how much reading i had been doing during the day (i use FBreader with white text/black screen) now i am finishing with 50-60% and it seems that the last 40% is a true 40% not the old oh its hit 40% i've got about an hour left.

Yup man.. It worked like a miracle.. My Galaxy battery lasted for 14 to 16 hours without a single call or msg or anything.. But after i cut da camera switch area of da cover provided by samsung, i am at 55% battery (using "sparepart" application) at the end of 54 hours..
i use this app called Auto task killer - it kills all tasks active in the background etc soon as the phone goes to sleep - whether put to sleep through lock button or otherwise - has been working well in terms of conserving battery life - i am using the L3 firmware - so far working well -
Yep - did the test shown here - and both times - i got 1 minute 2 seconds - =) But like i said - i believe the Auto Task Killer app is doing good for me so yea -
In galaxy latest firmware ( JC4 )also got the same setup ?
If so, how to access all those ?
Those settings are from the custom Galaxo 1.1.1 firmware (based on II5). Those settings will not do anything in Galaxo 1.6.2 since we do not have the kernel source from Samsung yet to do a custom kernel.
