Default I7500 FAQ's (old one)

As stated in the title, this is work in progress so if anything needs to be changed or people want a common question added, please let the mini-mods (guides) know.
we are: Rastaman-FB, devan963, kam187

Q: I can see my i7500's drives on my computer but i cannot browse them. Why?
A: With the device unlocked, pull down the notification bar at the top and click Mount

Q: NPS does not see my device but sees the drives, why is this and how do i fix it?
A: There are many reasons why NPS will not work properly but even when it does it can only be used for updating the device firmware currently.
Here is a post on what NPS is good for Problem to connect Galaxy i7500 with NPS

Q: How do i install the ADB driver for samsung

A: enable debug mode on phone (settings>applications>development>USB debugging) and let windows install the drivers after NPS is installed
if you still have problems take a look at this post
how to make adb list my galaxy?

Q: Im having issues with my Dialpad when in calls, is this a known issue?
A: Yes there are a few users here reporting these issues, further information can be found here.
dialpad doesn't work during call

Q: Where can i check that my provider has a more up-to-date CSC?
A: There will eventually be a firmware versions list that we will create as an overview however you can check yourselves with information provided on this page
Samsung FUS Downloader

Q: Where can i find a list of dialpad commands to check phone status etc?
A: the most common one is *#*#1234#*#*, further ones can be found here Galaxy Essentials - Android Wiki

Q: I cannot see the "Market" on my device and when i open a market link (market://) nothing happens Reason?
A: Some of the earlier handheld versions from some euro countries removed the market from the standard firmware apps. The fix for this would be to use ODIN and flash a new firmware onto the device. have a look at the guides.

Q: This phone has Bluetooth but it doesnt work for transferring files
A: This affects all androids on cupcake and donut. only things that work with Bluetooth really is headsets and handfree/carkits. people have tried to make apps to fix it but it needs root and even then its flaky at best

Q: Wifi drops out randomly and cannot see the router untill i restart wifi or reboot the device.
A: For some reason android and particularly Galaxy does not like mix mode routers. if its a home router and its not imperative to use mix mode then try and change it to G only and change protection to WPA/WPA2 only and nox mixed/auto protection

Q: Wifi turns off when screen goes blank
A: Settings>wireless controls>wifi settings>press menus, click advanced>wifi sleep policy>Never
