Absolutely wonderful news!!! DD Best news since I bought my Galaxy. Will wait for wifi and other things to work. I'm curious to see how they made the baseband communication.

edit: nvm what was written here, misunderstood.
No multitouch yet it seems, or no apps inside to use that. No root needed but it flashes ur phone with completely custom firmware, based on Android sources instead of Samsung's firmware.

Yes yes, I know... But why wouldn't I put Drakaz recovery to enable root? After I flash it with this guys' Eclair.

Just did it... it seem laggyer than the video... hehe and the samsung lock button doesn't work instead of it it's the shutdown button. And there is no gallery program .. grr
Edit 1: samsung unlock button works.. but it takes ages
Edit 2: Music player seems the same
phone works
functions are rather useless at this point... allot of stuff not working
Edit 3: best thing at this moment is the new unlocking screen
going back to IK4 now .. miss it allready NOT!!

Tried it and it shows promise, however too many vital features are missing. Will use it when they are added though. Need a phone to use atm so I had to reflash galaxo and couldnt try it as long as i hoped to.

The last picture is really promising. You can see it says 35MB of free memory. I wonder if that's with no killed apps (aka after a standard boot with gmail, calendar and widgets running). I never get even close to 35MB. I mean, I do after i kill the unnecesarry apps but then it drops down. It usually runs between 20 and 25MB free memory.

Pretty much the only reason I want 2.0 is for multitouch support - is this likely to come with that, or are they literally just trying to make it function exactly like 1.5 (albeit with the new apps it allows such as new market and goggles)??

without samsung modifying melfaz drivers for multitouch, we won't be getting any multitouch on 2.x. but who knows :?
what i'm expecting mostly from 2.0 is pptp support, new market, google apps (new maps, goggles,...), bluetooth data (send any file via bt), different timers for turning off screen and lock phone, contacts improvements (private mobile,...), html5 support in the browser

By that do you mean it includes 2.0, or Flash will only come in 2.1?

I don't think any device upgrade will be to anything other than 2.1 (or later).
Google says that the only differences between 2.0.1 & 2.1 are that the live wallpaper api are enabled and working, no other major changes...

At the moment if he'd said they were updating to 1.6 I'd be a great deal happier than I am now! If this pans out I'll be pretty happy
Also, surely this is Sammy Dutch not Italian? It's a ropey translate tho...

Perhaps the Galaxy's specs just aren't quite there...
Still, 2.0 would be nice.
