I sure hope Samsung releases 2.6.29 kernel source ASAP so Musty and the GAOSP team can bring us 2.1

I haven't deleted CSC but I don't see any branding, cache.img is only 192K

Google Goggles works!!!

3D works too
Advanced Task Manager reports ~40MB free memory after I kill everything. Overall it's seems faster than previous firmwares but it always seems like that after a wipe

at least they haven't punished us with Touchwiz! The phone's quite snappy (although I can't say if more than with the last 1.5 firmware I tried IK4) and it's nice to be able to use Goggles and the new Maps.

One question, is the modded recovery image still valid for this firmware?

Hey, new here. I have a problem... I just tried to install the firmware, and it seemed to go ok, but then I try to do a factory reset, but nothing happens....it keeps giving me the same screen where I have to press reset.
I've tried flashing back to an older firmware, but it won't let me.
I've tried formatting the internal sd card, but that doesn't work either. Can anyone tell me whether there's a way to do a factory reset other than through the menu?

it's better than nothing, but it's a shame this may be all we get from samsung.

Edit: HTC keyboard (touch input) doesn't work for me, anyone else?

HTC keyboard force closes here too.

Other quick impressions:

Changes:

- the Samsung keyboard is not available (didn't use it anyway)
- the switchers app isn't here (too bad, I did use this to turn on wifi)
- some new settings in the settings
- the UI does seem snappy, however this is after factory reset
- my impression is that the browser is much faster than before
- search finally searches through almost everything, including contacts
- new market!
- google goggles work, need to wait until morning to test

We'll see about battery life.

All told this upgrade is pretty significant and I'm glad to finally have it.

tried it again, this time for the second link, and it worked!
could it be wifi packet loss (when downloading the zip the first time)?
so glad I didn't give up!

Just flashed it after removing the AMSS and Cache.img from the .tar. Works like a charm

This is awesome, I was iffy about buying this phone (Only bought it last week), but this just made me feel happy about the purchase. I don't really care much for the live wallpapers offered in 2.1, so that'll just be a bonus if it ever gets released.

Villa,
In Brazil we have the same issue! i7500L Model!
The people here, who already have updated, removed the AMSS and CACHE.IMG file from the TAR file and worked pretty good!

BTW, if anything happen during update, we have a i7500L firmware file available to reset the phone!

Having some problems after flashing it on in Odin. Passes everything and looks fine on Odin, no strange dialogue but it's stuck on the Samsung boot flashing logo. Using Oden 3.95 which is the one offered by the tutorial. Any ideas?
