My friend has this mp4 video file which he can play on his droid, and on my other friend's HTC magic. But for some reason, when I try to play it on my phone, I get the message "sorry, this video cannot be played". The file is about 140mb, would that be the issue?
Yea, similar message. Was on cupcake, I'll try it on donut.
Anyhow, they got it playing on their default player though.
Update: Meridian player has this message saying "high bitrate may cause lag or crash", and then it gives the message "cannot be played". Actually I've tried like 6 different players, still same issue.

Ok this is really bugging me.
The same video plays fine on the HTC magic, Droid, iphone and Nokia e72 (or e71, forgot), any phone but the galaxy. Cupcake or Donut.
I used adb logcat, it says something about "unsupported width, height or profile"... anyone have any insight?

I run MP4's without a problem. I've got Donut + Galaxo, but it also works in Donut virigin.
Btw, how are you running it? I had the same message when trying to run it originally, but somehow after installing OI File Manager and running it from there, all Video files then started running. Btw, I now run Root Explorer but both are pretty good File Managers.

1. try running a few different mp4 files of various lengths.
2. maybe the original file is corrupt so try converting it to an avi and then re-save it as an mp4.
3. i just use the stock video player for 1.6.
Haha basically my friend was holding a contest, seeing whose phone lags the most. So we were all using the same file. Except I couldn't even take off. I'm doubting it's a problem with the original file...
The file is 140mb, length is about 25 minutes, is it just that the quality is too high for our poor phones to handle?
It might be that it cant play the audio because it maybe in a different format but you should download andriod videoria and convert the file and it will work

Thanks, I'll give that a shot, but the file works on the HTC magic and Motorola Droid...
