I would assume he's seconding your question. He wants to know the same thing. He wishes to ask the same question. So on and so forth. Of course, this is an assumption.
As for the release date, the released T-Mobile road maps have shown it to be releasing in the US sometime during November and the Holiday Season. If you're not in the US, but somewhere such as Europe, it's releasing sometime during the summer. If you're in one of the luckier places, it has been stated that it will release sometime this month, but then again, there are only 8 days left in June.
Any managed to find a Uk Release date for this phone,
I have been searching for ages and all i can find is rumors.
I managed to get an O2 insider to confirm that they are getting this phone and that it was coming on in june, but this person has now left O2 and so i have no more details.
June ends today so i guess she was iether wrong it it has been delayed.
called 02 and they just say we have not details on this phone.
may be i am being a bit cynical, but i know that O2 also has the Palm Pre in the uk and that is not coming out untill December! but a friend of mine in the states has one and loves it.
I think 02 is is delaying these phones in the uk because the are compeating with the IPhone and they make more money out of ripping off Apple fanboys than providing other phones with similar features.

I find that a little hard to believe to be honest with you. First of all the Palm Pre is currently not compatible due to the hardware with the European market. It isn't a GSM phone.
Secondly, why would they do that? Some people don't like the iPhone as much and now that in the UK Orange has the Hero, Vodfone has the Magic and T-Mobile has the G1 and the "MyTouch" (What a ******** name) it wouldn't make sense not to release it in my opinion. I just don't think it's ready yet, as no other countries have currently released it either.

as I said I may be being to cynical,
but it is out in Germany and is out in France next week, but o2 have not publicly confirm it in the uk.
I am hoping that they will come out very soon and say it's out next week.
well the HTC hero is out on August 3rd on T-mobile and around the same Time on Orange in the UK.
it looks like a slightly better phone than the Galaxy so if the pricing is right on the HTC and there still no news on the Samsung by the 8th of July when i can order the Hero or MyTouch 3G as T-Mobile are calling it, then i think i will go with that handset.

I was thinking the same thing but the Samsung's internal memory is what has me hooked and waiting!

I assume you mean the 8Gb build in memory, which I think is the only smartphone apart from the Iphone to have that mum memory.
this is a good fetcher and is one of the things l like about the Samsung, also the styling is good, i not 100% sure about the HTC styling.
The magic is ok but in the UK you can only get it in White so i decided not to bother with that one.
The HTC sense look very good which is what is currently drawing me to the HTC, but i think it going to be priced like an IPhone, which is a bit expensive.

Exactly - that would make the amount of apps you could store sky rocket. There would be apps on it that I would probably forget about. But right now im with out my G1 due to it crapping out on me. The screen decided to stop working for me. It will not display anything for me.

Excluding the N97 (32gb) and the Omina HD (16gb) of course.
The Samsung camera should be better than the Hero (HTC cameras are awful) and the internal memory makes the Samsung better imo. (Im sure the Hero GUI will be ported over to the Galaxy)

With order I do mean ORDER.
So it's available in germany now, coming to the UK this summer and other countries will follow.
yes it has been on sale in germnay for a few weeks and it's just gone on sale in France.
they seem to be rolling this out slowly, well it feels slow cause i want one.
T-Mobile start taking Pre orders for the Hero tomorrow so i am hoping that 02 feel the need to give us more info on a UK release tomorrow as well.
Well, from what I have tried so far it really feels great!
The form factor is good but not quite as good as the Iphone, however, the Galaxy weighs less than the Iphone so that is a plus.
The screen is bright and clear and everything seems very smooth and responsive. All though I must admit that the onscreen keyboard takes some time to get used to, but I guess that is what you can expect when you are used to a normal phone.
I think it is too early for me to be talking about battery life since I have been playing around with this A LOT since I got it (downloading/installing a ton of apps and trying almost every single option that I can think of. : )
For more info I recommend that you take a look at this very nice unboxing video from Arne at www.theunwired.net:
Do you only have the onscreen querty keyboard or other ones as well (normal mobile phone one)?
I've seen some video's where you can change that + there will be one that you can install too.
I am sure that you can download some apps which will give you the possibility to have different keyboard layouts. I for example got the "scandinavian keyboard" from the Android Market, which adds ć, ř and ĺ to the keyboard.
Brilliant app by the way!
What is the camera/video like? Im really interested to know how it stacks up compared to say the iphone/5Mp Nokias.
Am v jealous of you!
The camera functions are quite easy to use because there are not that many details for you to adjust (Camera flash: on, off or auto. Video: high or low quality).
The autofocus is quite fast and the pictures are ok and it is very nice to have the possibility to use a flash when taking pictures.
So far the picture quality has not been outstanding compared to the pictures I have seen on the Iphone and Nokia phones, which is a little disappointing, but I think I need to take some more pictures in different surroundings (inside/outside) before I can make any final comments on the camera.
Otherwise I guess that we just have to wait for some real camera experts to make an actual comparison of the cameras.
As for the video camera the picture quality is also ok (not HD or anything but ok). It is quite responsive but the sound quality could be better.
Still it is nice to have the video option when you see something that just needs to go on Youtube instantly. : )

What a pity, I was hoping because it is a Samsung phone the camera would be better than the iphone.. Ill wait for reviews but I really appreciate your comments
As far as it comes to image quality, I am quite impressed by these test shots. By my standards it's not good, it's awesome! Last one is not so good, but thats a tough shot for any camera.
This is what my countrys biggest importer says on its site. I will order mine tomorrow trough my friend who is working there; just to guarantee that I'll get one first
Prize is a hefty 461 x 1.22 = ~560€, but that is not an issue
So is there 192Mb or 288Mb of RAM? I guess it doesnt matter if you dont multirun more than 3 programs... (MSN, browser and something)

^That's a link to "cellphone4all.net".
An unlocked phone at half the regular price? It sure sounds like a sweet, sweet deal.
From their "Policies" page:
Quote:
[...]
All Replacements and Exchanges cell phones can be processed only within 14 day period.
For accessories, bluetooth, battery etc...... return and exchange policy will be only for 7 days after that no rma will be issued.
[...]
After 14 day period, all manufacturers’ warranties apply.
[...]
The page mentions "cellhut.com" twice, but not "cellphone4all.net" -- a copy/paste job?
The listed contact email address for obtaining RMAs is a humble "michaelgarry73" at Yahoo (seems a bit unprofessional to not have "rma@cellphone4all.net" or some such), and the phone number carries an English "+44" prefix. There's no postal address given.
So, now it looks slightly less sweet. Might even be someone trying to peddle 2nd-class merchandise, devices that failed initial QC or something?
On the other hand, I can find no complaints about this business, and it's being hosted by ProStores, which is owned by eBay.
Personally, I'm gonna steer clear of this ... at least until somebody verifies this store.
