my bad....you need to upload them to q host site like photobucket. grab the sharing link

create your post/reply and hit the picture frame looking icon in the text editing tools and past the link.

it can all be done from the phone.

i think only donating forum members can directly attatch photos to posts ...not sure tho...looks like i can...and i never donated.

to directly attatch you use the paper clip icon

badfish, post your display time too, when you get around to posting those screenshots. also, please let me know what kind of settings you are using on JD! i am currently getting great battery life too - but it sounds like it can be a lot better!

Battery life is average for an android device. Compared to ATT's other offerings at this time, (Inspire and Atrix) its the best. Though thats not saying much.

the evo and inspire have identical battery life...the infuse started off worse but gets better with time and tweaking. we own all three devices and thus far the infuse has the worst life.

your best bet on any device is to follow the multiple battery saving tips throughout the forums.

if you use your phone...it is going to drain the battery

Default Battery Life conclusion

Has anyone thought we use our phones more due to all the new stuff so of course the battery is gonna die faster!

My phone is now lasting over 36 hours with JD and other tweaks i've made. So it's all about how you use it.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have a weak signal where you are then your phone tries to compensate by increasing its signal output which drains the battery pretty quickly. I work in blast proof buildings at plants and with light usage by the end of the day my phone is at around 30 - 40%. However when I'm in the office with a much better signal then with moderate usage by the end of the day I'm usually around 60%

You can check your signal strength by going to settings > about phone > status.

This is probably true. I was always struggling to keep a signal with T-mobile here in NW Denver. AT&T gets 4-5 Mbps down in two places where my old phone couldn't even place a call.

That being said, I went from morning until night yesterday and still had 80% of my battery. I'm totally impressed by this phone's battery life. Your mileage may vary.

Ed, i think you got a bad one... or your expectations are too high? because my battery life is amazing, with very heavy use.

over 24 hours on a single charge, with 4+ hours of display time.

sounds like you are having issues with the device itself - don't give up on it - exchange it if you can.

the battery life on this thing is unreal, as others have said.

I would believe that. It could be bad..and yes...my expectations are very high haha

The att guys said the same thing that the battery life should be far better than what I am experiencing

...I have a friend at samsung that I am meeting up with tomorrow..I will ask him about it. (he may or may not have a sg2 for me to play with too :P)

That being said, I think the smartphone manufacturers should start focusing on developing better batteries instead of making the phones more powerful.
Did it take a little while for your good battery life to kick in?
I got the Infuse 4g last week and the battery is absolutely brutal. I'm talking 4 hours on moderate use (send a few texts, use a couple applications but nothing much). I get up around 8 for work and the phone is almost dead at lunch time. That can't be right.
Should I be returning the phone or is this normal for the first little bit before the battery settles in.

I've been going through battery hell for a few months now. If the phone was left to sit, ostensibily doing nothing, it would drain itself to zero in 4 or 5 hours.

I was constantly charging it. If i went out for a few hours with no charger, the phone would be dead after moderate use.

I finally fixed it by doing a hard reset to the factory state, which wiped out all of my apps and wiped out my root access. (but retained my contacts, so that was good. I did a full backup before doing the reset, but haven't had to use it yet.) There was pretty obviously some rogue process that was running all of the time, draning the battery, but I couldn't identify it.

I tried all kinds of things to fix it. Power tweaking apps, got a new battery from ATT, was all over the web looking for solutions.

The reset fixed it immediately.

I'm slowly re-installing the apps that I need and keeping an eye on any change in battery usage. I'm pretty sure it had someting to do with my rooting the phone, which I don't intend to do again, as I didn't see a lot of advantage in it. It's not like jailbreaking an iphone. The Androids are pretty open as it is.

Anyway, that's my suggestion for really bad battery life - do a factory reset and start (almost) over from scratch. Get a backup program first and back everything up and store the backup in the cloud or on your pc.

Hope this helps someone. I was starting to really hate this great phone.

My battery life has been exceptional on my infuse compared to other droids... My captivate required me carrying around my charger at all times... Now i plug it in at night unplug when i wake up and have yet to have to plug back in before bed... Take that back... Unless im doing some serious streaming like watching more than one movie on project free tv... But a normal day of facebook emails calls text and a few youtube videos ive had no problem making it the whole day...

By the way, regarding doing a factory reset. Though any apps you've installed get removed, you don't have to repurchase them. The store keeps track of what's been purchased - all you have to do is re-download them.

Wink Extended Life Battery Available

I got my daughter a Infuse 4G and the battery was as advertised, as it goes dead within an 8 hour period. I found an extended life battery [3400 mAH] at GorillaGadgets.com for $28.00 and it definately extended her run time.

I am running Infused 2.2.2 with Entropy's Daily Driver and I am getting very good battery life, 5% maybe every hour with just texting use. It used to use maybe around 10% with texting use every 40 min.

So to charge the phone you need to turn off the 4g but of course you wont received any email and so, unless you are on wifi, heres how to do it easy just press and hold power button then deactivate "data network mode" and I even tried watching.movies on my memory card with the 4g off made hug, not tiny bit, but huge difference. Now we need to look for an App that will turn off 4g and only use 3g connection, as deactivating data network mode turn off data entirely including e edge. I'm going to call samsung 1800 samsung
JuiceDefender has a lot of power management tweaks. There are 2 paid versions and I am currently using just the FREE and I am getting atm x1.41 and have gotten upwards to x1.7 the life. With the paid versions you can get 2 - 4x the battery life and I am looking to prolly move up to one of those.

Just sayin my opinion on juicedefender, that saving time it says it makes, for me it was almost like how much worse it became lol. I did disable the turning off internet on standby, which did help but it for me didnt do anything.

Idk, I left for work @ 5pm with 100% battery, I texted during lunch, I turn of wifi cuz there is no coverage. I made two twenty minute fõn calls and I surfed the web during lunch. I got off at 130 am and I had 38% battery, I am now writing this review at 3 am. With 18% battry. So I have gone 10.5 hours with moderate use.
I'm not rooted nor do I have as battery apps.
Before I leave for work I leave fully charged. I only run 3g, wifi OFF. I Have all silent. I close ALL running apps. I don't run widgets and my screen runs at minimum illumination... so like I say, I have 10.5 hours with light IM, calling and web surfing... sorry your battrry life sucks

Well after writing my first reply I went ahead and got the ultimate ver of JuiceDefender ($4.99) and turned on advanced mode.

I kept most of the defaults but changed a few items.

Today I have now at this writing had my phone of the charger for 8 hours and I have 82% of my battery still.

I have gone on the market, downloaded and installed one app. Did quite a bit of texting and used a few apps.

I would normally be at around 40-50% without the Ultimate JuiceDefender.

I have the regular Juice Defender and it made a noticeable difference in battery life.

I am thinking of going with an upgrade, what settings did you implement besides what I assume is the "balanced" setting?

I myself thought the battery life was just to short. I liked the screen on it but that's about it.
appear look alot like apples no customized choices (stock infuse) .
Well I traded mine for the ATRIX I couldn't be happier this phone is way faster and with the gingerbread update no motor blur. Anyway the reason I posted to the battery issue is the ATRIX battery last up to at lease. 60% longer with he's y heavy use. The infuse battery sucks, no way around it.

I totally agree, I too had the Inspire until it got stolen. Ever since I got the Infuse I have been repeatedly surprised at its AWESOME battery life.

Default solution to your problems my friend.

i have just recently got the infuse(about 2 weeks) ive done my research and asked around, i can tell you changing your home screen if your still running froyo will make a big difference in battery life thats forsure. i have now rooted mine with the super one click and am running the infused rom but gtg which is like gB um my thoughts on the rom are it deff is alot faster and more advanced but the battery life isnt too great but its not horrible. back to froyo i used the launcher pro home screen right off the market and found it to be beneficial let me know if this helps! @dillon

Hello, this is my first post, I dont mean to dig up any old bones here, but just wanted to give my 2 beans.
i recently got over 13 hours on a full charge with the samsung infuse.
I've had the phone for about 2 days now.
anyway,
just wondering, is it better to charge these phones while they are turned ON or OFF?

thanks!

This was probably addressed somewhere earlier in the thread, but Samsung Infuse 4G has a 1750 mAh capacity in its original battery. You can buy an extended 3200 mAh HLI-i997XL battery from Mugen Power and have it last almost thrice as long, though...

just wondering, is it better to charge these phones while they are turned ON or OFF?thanks!
Hi beanfuse,

It doesn't really matter. It'll charge faster when it's off if that matters for you. There's a thread about this on these very forums. I just registered, so I can't link you to it, but I'm sure you'll be able to find it...

I've had two different Infuses and the battery life on both of them SUCKED! I have two friends who had infuses but upgraded to Galaxy due to how horrible the battery life was.

The good news is that battery life is quite a bit better once the phone is upgraded to gingerbread. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Seems like I'm getting like 30% more life out of mine. I still bought a spare battery to have with me if I'm out all day and plan to use data and camera. Before this I had an iphone 4 and it rarely ran out of battery on me. The Infuse on froyo habitually let me down at concerts or other events. I went to at least a few shows with full battery and the thing was running super low towards the end of the event.....granted I was on facebook and taking pics/videos.

Just to add my two cents: got my infuse about a month ago...installed Zeus about 2 weeks ago and have seen battery life extended remarkably. I wake up at 5 and go to bed at midnight most nights. The lowest I've seen the battery is 30%. Prior to Zeus, had to recharge after work.

I purchased two Samsung Infuse 4g phones with an ATT family plan two months ago. My phone's battery began rapidly draining after about one month (I only added a few basic apps) and it's capacity was like night and day when compared with our other identical phone. Within 48 hours of this happening, the phone went dark and would not power on. I took the phone back and was told my battery was defective and got a new one. Since getting the new battery the phone seems to be working fine now. Our other phone had to be exchanged within one month because it stopped making any sounds. While I really like the phone when it is working, I'm disappointed in Samsung's quality controls as we are 2 for 2 with major problems early on. My two cents.

Default More on Battery life

My battery life is usually pretty bad also. I don't know what i did for a month though, but suddenly my battery never drained. I dont' use a ton of apps, mainly text and occasional web browsing.

I think the main issue that burns up my power is that the applications start automatically. I force them to stop, but they just start up again.

Any idea how to prevent them from starting on their own? I've gone all over the manage applications options and cannot find a way to prevent them.

Thanks

so i have the infuse rooted right now running the cm9 port realeas 5/19/2012 by entropy over at xda and it comfortably gets about 16 hours with moderate use. When I ran ZEUS ZTR created by dman over at xda i got at least 20-22 hours with moderate to heavy use. Yea ZTR got more hours but its a GB rom and cm9 is ICS with more eyecandy and better performance. Never got a battery benchmark of the stock froyo since i rooted and hacked my phone within hours of getting it LOL
I love the samsung infuse 4g honestly the best samsung phone i ever used. Now with S-VOice hack on it working completely i love it even more

I wanted to share a specific experience from last night. This seems to be a common issue with newer Samsung phones.

For 99% of the time, I have been pleased with the battery life on this phone (in comparison to most powerful android phones). Sometimes, I will get an entire day on a single charge, other times I get 12 hours. Your biggest issue is capturing your signals. That is where my problem comes in.

I took the phone off the charger at 100% last night at 11pm. I wake up at 6 am to find it is at 77%. I checked to see what was running...nothing. I checked battery and nearly half the battery usage was wifi. I was floored, just because wifi has never been more prominent than the other items on there.

I look at wifi, and on a perfect signal from my own router, it scans every 3 seconds and repopulates whatever wi-fi it is finding. It is constantly finding my neighbors wi fi and then losing it, for example.

What is weird, is there have been other nights, while the phone has the exact same settings, that it only uses 2 or 3%.

I did some research and this is a common issue with the phones, especially in the Galaxy phones, but I could not find an answer from anyone or any other forum.

If anyone has the answer, great.

If not, then I am just happy to share for others to read.

side note: I have noticed this particular forum for this phone is VERY slow in responses. I guess there are not a lot of owners. I came from the HTC inspire forum and that place was always buzzing.

I have done pretty well with my infuse battery life. At first I had widgets, live wallpaper and all kinds of apps running. I learned quickly that the battery life would suffer. Now without any live wallpaper and with juice defender ultimate running, I can get about 12-14 hours on a heavy day and almost two full days if all I do is text message. I always charge when it hits about 30%. I swear by Juice Defender Ultimate! I have also recently uninstalled my task killer on the advice of this forum. That was a bad habit I needed to break

Default low cell tower signal causes battery drain

I have used juice defender and battery defender both work well when my cell tower signal is strong Above 3 bars. When I have 2 bars or less the battery drains fast even when the screen is shut off. I think this is what some users are experiencing. Not sure if anyone see this too?

Samsung Infuse 4G
Current Rating:
Rate this Phone:

AT&T introduced the world to a 4.5 inch near-beast. With a different processor here and more RAM there, this could have been their Galaxy S II. Instead, it's closer to a Galaxy S phone than anything. It has a beefier 1.2GHz single-core Humm... Read More
