Default Get this or wait for GS2?

So I had a Captivate and loved it! I have an iPhone 4 right now but I want another samsung Android, The Infuse looks great and has all the features but is the screen TOO big? lol

Then we have the GS2 which should be coming to ATT soon, it will probably look almost the same but it will have a slightly smaller screen and will have a dual core proc (is it really much of a difference?)

Thoughts?

Well I will tell you my story and maybe you will appreciate it.. I started off with all the iPhones and loved them but got SICK of the small screen and not able to make a lot of changes on it (iPhone 4).. I sold it for 500.00 on eBay and got the Samsung Galaxy S2 (rooted) didnít like it and couldnít get it to run very well on AT&T in Indiana.. sent it back and got one not rooted.. A little better but still wasnít very fast on the network (H+) in Indiana.. Sent it back and got the infuse from ATT (I have it now) and I like the screen but it is a little to big honestly.. The screen is awesome but honestly it is slow... takes a while to get the camera running and to take a picture.. Also it is jerky when you record and play it back.. Also after having the touch Wiz 4 and going to this one (sucks).. I have this phone till the 11th of Aug. So I will take it back on the 10th and if they have the S2 then I will buy it if not then I will go back to my iPhone 3GS till it gets here.. then I will get it and I hope it will be tuned for the ATT Network better and I will love it. I am also buying these at full price so I can keep my upgrade for the iPhone 5 (Unless it sucks) and then I will use my upgrade for the Samsung galaxy s2. If I end up buying the Samsung galaxy s2 and loving it then I will probably still get the iPhone with my upgrade just to have it (it always holds it value) so I can see it anytime if I want to .. I just hope the S2 has smoother video then what the infuse does (playback) I hope this helps.. Let me know if you need anything else..

I would get the SGSII, but if you don't need/want the extra power, then just get the Infuse. It's a great phone.

I went from an old flip phone straight to the Infuse. Never owned a smartphone, of any size, prior to this. In comparison to the old phone I felt like I was buying a 50" flat screen TV and wondering how I was going to handle it and carry it around. It took some getting used to, but considering I wanted something more than just a phone, having the slightly larger display makes sense. And now it doesn't seem all that big.

Had the evo. Washed out screen compared to Infuse.

Anyway. The biggest question to ask yourself is if you prefer a bigger screen or more horsepower. I chose the Infuse for the screen. I was nervous about touchwiz but I actually really like it.

If I had to give up the Infuse for the galaxy s2 I would really miss 4.5 inches of screen. I don't play games on my phone very often so the dual core debate is not an issue for me. The important thing will be the screen size and your personal use of your phone. Either way you will be happy if you don't look back and doubt your purchase.

Games, Movies, Books, Pics and everything multi-media. I haven't talked an hour on this phone. If I didn't know how to use the task manager, and ram manager, I would need dual core, but I'd miss the 4.5" btw, this version of touchwiz does not come with apps that can't be removed like touch wiz 3.0 and 4.0. It comes pretty slimmed down. For u to personlize yourself

the s2 has the same size screen doesn't it?

...I was literally looking at one last night ...I thought the guy was holding my infuse lol. He is going to let me mess with it tomorrow but I am not allowed to take pics or video

I have to make a decision by monday. keep the infuse and use my best buy buy back later toward the s2 or return it now and limp along with an old iphone 3g until the s2 comes out

The galaxy s2 is 4.3 inches. Infuse 4.5.
If that difference doesn't matter to you then the galaxy is the easy choice. It will be a better supported phone for cases, updates, and is almost future proof(next years super amoled plus HD screens will be awesome).

1) You must be rooted.
2) If you have a /Voodoo folder on your internal SD card, delete it and reboot.
3) If you're already running a custom ROM with Voodoo lagfix FULLY enabled, you can skip to step 7.
4) Download CWM-community-kernel-v8.zip if you're on Froyo or CWM-infused-v2-kernel.zip if you're on Gingerbread and place it on your internal SD card.
5) Install SGS Kernel Flasher from the Market.
6) Open SGS Kernel Flasher, select choose kernel, select the file you downloaded, and select flash kernel. Your phone will reboot and begin to enable Voodoo lagfix. Let it do that and boot all the way up. It will take a while (5-10 minutes) because it's converting all partitions to ext4.
7) If you're on Froyo, you must now install a file explorer like Root Explorer from the Market and use it to delete the file /system/bin/recovery. You will need to hit the "Mount R/W" button in Root Explorer before it will let you delete it. I can't stress this enough... you MUST MUST MUST delete that file before continuing or else you will get boot loops!
8) Now install ROM Manager from the Market and open it.
9) Select "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" and choose "Galaxy S i9000".
10) Now go to "Download ROM", select my section (gtg465x), select the latest Infused V2 release, and hit the download button.
11) At the "Installation Type" prompt, select full.
12) Select the addons you wish to install and then wait for ROM Manager to download the ROM. There is a note at the bottom of this post about which addons are not compatible with each other.
13) When you get to the "ROM Pre-Installation" prompt, you MUST check "Wipe Data and Cache" unless you're coming from Infused V2 BETA 1.
14) Press OK. Your phone will reboot and automatically install the ROM. Just sit back and relax.

If this is what you are saying is EASY are you smoking something lol.. it doesnt explain anything lol... the fact that it says put the file on the internal drive (is that unziped or zipped) lol come on .. wow

AT&T introduced the world to a 4.5 inch near-beast. With a different processor here and more RAM there, this could have been their Galaxy S II. Instead, it's closer to a Galaxy S phone than anything. It has a beefier 1.2GHz single-core Humm... Read More
