Unhappy SD card lost, icons move, alarm & phone turns off by itself

This is my first Android and I'm disappointed.

1) This morning I awoke to find it was turned off, though I went to sleep with it on last night as it's my only phone. It's turned off by itself at least twice now that I'm aware of, for whatever reason, but to turn itself off completely is very concerning. What if there were an emergency & someone was trying to contact me?

2) It occasionally "loses" my SD card. Music and photos on the card can't be found until I after I reboot the phone. Which brings me to the third complaint.

3) When the phone reboots my icons move from the page I had them on. I read in a post somewhere that this is a common Android problem they're aware of but apparently too simple to bother with. I'll just move my icons back where I had them like iPhone owners, Windows Mobile owners, and BB owners do when their phones reboot. What? This doesn't happen on those phones?

4) The Android alarm turns off by itself. I've always used two alarms because I've accidentally turned off an alarm in my day. This alarm, however, has on more than one occasion turned itself off after one snooze slider. I know this because I was awake enough, after the first time it happened, to purposely watch my finger press the snooze slider and slide it over. After the second alarm went off the Android alarm was off. There are no other alarm apps on the phone.

Of my four complaints the first is the most severe. The other three just annoying. I haven't found answers or fixes anywhere so don't really expect help, but any help is appreciated. I figure if enough people made their phone issues known then maybe Android would fix them.

This reminds me, I read somewhere that AT$T promised that phones purchased in 2011 with Froyo would upgrade to Gingerbread?

My phone:
Model number: SAUMSUNG-SGH-I997
Firmware version: 2.2.1
Baseband version: I997UCKH1
Kernel version:
Build number: FROYO.UCKH1

AT&T introduced the world to a 4.5 inch near-beast. With a different processor here and more RAM there, this could have been their Galaxy S II. Instead, it's closer to a Galaxy S phone than anything. It has a beefier 1.2GHz single-core Humm... Read More
