Default Which map app to use?

Playing with my new Infuse i noticed it has 4 map apps. They are.....

ATT family map
ATT navigator
maps
navigation

Which do i use for just wanting to navigate for one stop to another (navigation)? Do any of these require a subscription from ATT (ATT navigator)? Do any do anything special or cool?

Yes. The first two are at &t and will cost you money

The second two are google, free and very useful .

I usually start in maps. From maps you have lots of options. One thing you can do from maps its ask for directions, which launches navigation.

By the way maps works fairly well with just the data connection, no satellite gps, and chews up about 5 megabytes per hour. Navigation requires satellite gps which will devour your battery and sometimes doesn't lock in well.

In summary, start in maps...it does almost everything you'll need and does it well.

AT&T introduced the world to a 4.5 inch near-beast. With a different processor here and more RAM there, this could have been their Galaxy S II. Instead, it's closer to a Galaxy S phone than anything. It has a beefier 1.2GHz single-core Humm... Read More
