Default Is there a 3g setting?

Ugh, so I broke my original Mesmerize and had to get the insurance to send me a new one... For some reason..This phone seems a little different. (My provider is US cellular btw). It never says 3g on top anymore..it just says 1x..and it is EXTREMELY SLOW. I am in all the same places as the last phone, and it seems like it was 5 times faster! Is there a setting or something for this, that I just can't seem to find?

try dialing *228 and have it find your local towers. As well as checking your network setting for home/roaming etc

Also call USCC and make sure they provisioned your account to the new phone. It may still be looking for your old phone on the voice, data, or both.
